Weird Mandaline Result Need Help

The pill in question is a blue X but also a pink mitsubishi test the same but a stronger reacton. they are both in the sydney NSW Australia area.
Its a pale blue with a capital X on it very dodgy press if u ask me very big and barrell like pill.

Mandelin Reagent Result: Slightly changed to a darker yellow possbily brown maybe orange then dark red/maroon around the edges.

It doesnt really do to much after that. The colour chart doesnt even have that colour on it... anyone shead any light on what it could possibly be????
Ill test with more reagents when i buy the complete test kit SOON.

You should put them up on pillreports. I bet someone like ekstasis could shed some light on your results.

Green to red to brown is PMA but it is rare and I have never seen PMA been tested before.
 
The order of colour changes seems unusal, but it could well indicate a mixture of compounds, possibly also PMA. A primary amine test (nitroprusside + acetone) should indicate if PMA is present.
 
Sorry to derail but, it looks like you are using quite a bit of your pill to test. You really only need a piece the size of a pinhead.

Hope your question gets answered.. I honestly don't know what to make of that reaction.
 
Um phase_dancer isn't nitroprusside + acetone one of the variations of Simons reagent (which is therefore a Secondary Amine Test)?

From the photos the reaction looks to me like it's fizzing and going green then eventually a red. This is similar to reports from scientific papers on what a PMA reaction should be to Mandelin. This is most interesting as I have never seen or been able to find photos of a PMA reaction. I would test with Mecke, Simons, Robadope.
PMA should react as follows:

Mecke: lime/green
Robadope: should react (could be a red or purple)
Simons: no reaction

Please also note despite my answers for those that don't know phase_dancer is the one with the chemical knowledge & expertise. I'm usually keenly listening to whatever he says as I don't have any university chemistry knowledge or even senior year high school chemistry.

digg-it, please can you post reports for the pills with this reaction on pillreports.com, for the safety of the community. What if these are PMA!?! I hope no one ends up in hospital or worse. In the mean time if you have a picture of this pill that would be awesome to see it posted here too! I hope you get the other reagents. It will be very interesting to see how they react!

Um Ekstasis-//7...nitroprusside and acetaldehyde is Simons, substituting acetone produces the primary amine test.

This document was very difficult to obtain and it was only with the help of another BLer that I was able to obtain a print copy.

4.3 Secondary amines e.g. methamphetamine, can be identified with Simon R [reagent] by forming a blue Simon-Awe complex. The amine and acetaldehyde produce the enamine 17, which subsequently reacts with sodium nitroprusside to 18. Finally, the Immonium salt 18 is hydrolized to the Simon-Awe complex 19

4.4 If acetaldehyde is replaced by acetone the Simon's R works selectively with primary amines. Analogous to the Legal Reaction, a purple-colored product 20 is obtained.

However, it should also be mentioned that this reagent is less sensitive than the secondary amine test.
 
^^Really?!? That's so confusing!! So sodium nitrosprusside + acetone + the sodium carbonate buffer = a primary amine test. Is this the recipe for Robadope? I searched but could not find the recipe/ingredients list of Robadope.

I think that United Nations document you speak of was what I was reading last night browsing the net. http://www.unodc.org/pdf/scientific/SCITEC6.pdf I just searched nitroprusside + acetone with google. Anyway the reason I wrongly guessed that nitroprusside + acetone was another variation of the Simons recipe was because I read this from the .pdf

So yeah it called it Simon's Reagent with acetone. That's why I got mixed up. They should have called it a different name like Primary Amine Test or Robadope Reagent or Puppa Guiseppe's Special Blend Reagent :D so people like me wouldn't get confused with Simons.
 
It's great that it's available online. I had searched high and low for it before getting that copy some years ago. I believe Robadope is a proprietary title, although I'd bet the formula is at least very similar. I think I've only seen one other mention of this formula in literature, and believe me, I searched long and hard.
 
All the three pills i tested with these results have all now crumbled in the bags they are in i have a complete test kit on the way so will update when i can on the other reagent results.
Ill put the results up on pill reports as soon as i can conferm whats in them.

Hey Digg-it, I saw in the Aussie PIR thread you said you had received all your new reagents. Thanks also for posting the pic and reactions seen with Mandelin on the dodgy Green Mitsubishi. When you get a change I hope you'll post all the reactions with your new kit on these dodge pills especially Mecke and Robadope to see if they react as PMA should.
 
Did anyone find the reagent color test to be..... sadly beautiful?

It's kinda like looking at an oil spot with a rainbow, you know it's terrible but it's beautiful at the same time?
 
hey sorry i have done the tests with the new kit and they arent PMA thank god ill post up pictures and stuff when i get a spare hour to just do stuff have been working flat out so dont have much free time and dont think i will till around sunday. Just wanted to let the ppl know that its not PMA!
EKSTEASIS- sorry i havent put these up on PR i dont hold that site in high respects as there seem to be to many pushers and noobs on there that dont know what they are on about u really have to seive through the shit and take almost everything as a grain of salt. This site there might be noobs and pushers on here but there seems to be ALOT of ppl that have genuine knowledge i now have a pill report account and will try to make duplicate post both on there and here in the future.
Not ragging on your site that u moderate just belive that here is a better source for quality opinions and information.
 
^Don't worry I totally understand what you're talking about. There are times on pillreports when I feel like a tape recorder just repeating myself because some people have come out with some urban myth instead of using erowid or wikipedia. So for sure the people of BL are on average much more experienced and knowledgeable than the average dude on PR. The thing is though the database (amount of reports and comments getting posted) on pillreports is much more than those on BL and also PIRs and pillreports on Bluelight seem to get a bit hidden in the pages so then less updates and user experiences are posted. I know there are lots of d*#kheads (dealers) on PR at times trying to talk up their piperazine bullshit pills. I always recommend when reading a report on a new unheard of pill ect to always wait until a few regular users post feedback. If you aren't using Pillreports lots the way you can find out if a user is a regular or a newbie (and possible dealer talking sh*t) is to use the "Search" function on the top left to search for reports by the person's user name. You must be logged in to do username pillreport searches. Also on the left column you can choose "Search Comments" to find if the user has posted much in the past or is just a newbie.

With time and persistence the PR users do become more knowledgeable. I remember back in 2005/2006 posting a report on a pill that at the time was very new and different from anything I'd had before. Using using all 5 reagents it tested up as reacting to Marquis/Mandelin/Mecke for MDxx, No reaction for Robadope and a positve test for Simons. It had no other unusual reactions. I wrote on pillreports that I suspected it was high in MDEA. People flamed me and said stuff like "F*#ck off! MDEA is extremely rare and isn't put in pills in Australia." Of course I knew this statement was false and that MDEA was around because a user in Australia at the time on BL had been arrested with some pills and the Lacoste's had been found to contain MDEA + MDMA when the police lab tested. Also there is an article on Erowid about MDEA pills being lab tested in Australia in the mid 90's. Anyway what I'm getting at is that these days people on pillreports seem much more aware of MDEA and I think in general peoples knowledge/attitude can change and improve.
