Mike sat down on the curb with his head between his knees. He was tired... it was already 12:00 AM and his friends still hadn't come...
"They said 10:00PM," thought Mike glumly as he stared at the dark, midnight sky. Suddenly, he heard a car coming in the distance. After a few moments, Mike could make out the shape of his friend's green Honda Civic.
"Sorry," said Jason, a ****** boy with a dog-like grin. "My hook was a couple hours late... didn't want to let you down, ya know?"
"Whateva," said Mike grimly. "Any later and my parents woulda been back. Parents come back... Mike don't go to rave... simple as that." He slowly climbed into the passenger side of Jason's car. "So where is this rave thing gonna be at?"
"It's at this fat place called Masterdome," said Jason excitedly. "TheeO's gonna be spinning. He's so dope, man, u gotta hear him mix!"
Mike stared forward, thinking about what was about to take place. This would be his first rave ever. For weeks now, Jason had been bugging Mike to go with him to a party. He would babble on and on about XTC and how great it was. Mike smiled faintly as he remembered Jason's biggest reason for going: the girls.
"The girls are so hot, and when they're f*** up... u can do anything to em u want," he had said, but Mike wasn't into that kind of thing. Ever since his girlfriend had left him for one of his close friends, he had just been trying to find a way to escape his overwhelming sadness. That's when he had started to consider Jason's simple solution of getting as f***** up as possible.
As Jason began the 30 minute drive towards San Bernadino, Mike began to think about how the rave would be like. Jason had described everything in as much detail as humanly possible, but how would it really be? Mike knew the answer as simple as everyone : Unless you tried something... u would never really understand it.
30 minutes later... Mike was staring glumly as Jason paid a security guard money for a parking spot. He laughed to himself as he saw a sign saying "Park on E street"...
Soon, Jason had found a spot and slowly eased his Civic into place.
"Let's go already... I've been waiting all night!" said Jason. Mike trailed behind him as he walked quickly to the entrance to the party. When Mike looked up, he saw that the line was phenomonally long. It would take them at least an hour to get in!
