Water Retention from BC

I have never experienced water/fluid retention before now, but since starting on a new BC pill (Diane ED) three weeks ago this side effect had manifested itself pretty badly
Does anyone know how to combat water retention? I'm trying to drink more water so I'll see how that goes, but it's really bothering me as I just feel uncomfortable and annoyed.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar, how did you deal with it? Does it settle down with time?

Ask your doctor to switch you to a low estrogen pill.

Before taking any BC pill you should be getting a blood test to analyze your estrogen and progesterone ratios. Based on that, your doctor should write an Rx and the pharmacist should use your lab results to create a BC pill according to your ratios.

Water retention usually means the estrogen aspect is too high.
