Me and some mates went to watch Tron 3D on the first night it came out in Britain, originally there were a load of people planning to go but some flaked and some got too high to leave the house, eventually it was just me "H" and "J". My mate "M" had recently gotten a load of this weed strain called Colombian Red (I'm not really sure how common this is elsewhere but where I live you pretty much only get generic shit). We'd never tried it before and we were game to try and burn through as much of it as possible before we went. I wanted to do all of mine in bong hits because it feels cleaner plus I personally felt it gets you get way higher. After about my fifth or sixth (it was potent shit and we were doing it in small bursts) I started to lose my short term memory capabilities but I carried on, I'm not sure how many I did in total but by the end I was higher than I've ever been on weed. I went and collapsed on the sofa and tried to force myself to stop smiling using my hands and holding my face in place. We missed the first bus to the cinema and stood around freezing to death while we tried to figure out if we really were late or if we were just getting paranoid. Eventually we trudged back and I tried to do some more bong hits but "H" stopped me (wisely) telling me I was fucked enough as it is. "M" came back in and shouted for us to get moving, we hadn't realised the next bus was like a minute away. Suddenly I'm really freaked out about having to buy a ticket, "H" is keeping it really cool but I'm jabbering about how the streetlamp is a metaphor for progress in a collapsing society. This was definitely the highest I'd ever been in public. "H" buys our tickets for us and we all climb to the top level and sit at the back. The bus is lurching around like crazy and "J" gets the great idea of trying to walk to front to get an first-person view of the buses journey, we're all high so of course we agree. Thank fuck there was nobody on the top level with us because we were lurching around like a group of drunks. The rest of the ride goes smooth as you like, the roads all look beautiful with the lights from cars bouncing off the puddles caused by the rain. We're dropped around the back of the cinema and all light up a joint just to sustain the high, about halfway through mine I get all paranoid and we put them out and save them for later. After waiting in line for what seems like an eternity (with all the staff constantly staring at us with accusatory eyes of course) we buy our tickets and walk in. We're about ten minutes late but that only means the adverts are nearly over so we take seats near the middle and put on the glasses. It's difficult to describe how beautiful the film was but anyone who went to see it whilst sober could probably guess the kind of shit we were seeing. The scenes with the light-bikes were just incredible, there were times where I felt like I was there. Every scene which showed a landscape was just breathtaking, there were times when I actually couldn't bring myself to blink. The long and short of it is that watching films whilst high is best done at the cinema, if you can get there. Has anyone else got any stories about watching films high (cinema or otherwise) or just wandering around in public whilst out of your head? I'd be interested to hear them
