Anyone else waiting for this?

£8.52 a month seems a bit steep.. and that's if you pay for 6 months membership off the bat. At least you get 30 days free online to see if its worth it.

Anyone been playing the beta? Friend of a friend has been raving about it for a good 6 months now.

Anyone know what class they'll be?

I pre-ordered it about a week ago. I'm actually not that excited about it but I try out pretty much every big MMO. Not much time these days though.

I was thinking I'd play Witch Hunter.

I want to try it but I have been burned by too many MMO's. It is the genre I like the most but it is also the genre that has given me some of the WORST titles.

Well I hated WoW.. only played free trial

Hope this is a new era for MMORPGs

I am curious what you didnt like about WoW compared to this. I looked over this game but it just didnt seem to grab my attention. Hopefully you can shine some light on it.

I played as undead for a whole day and got so bored. The scenery was bland, no one around, the quests I did just involved me running between 3 or 4 places and getting attacked by angry farmers and dying. No one talked to anyone either.

I know a lot of people say it gets good when you're a high level.. but that makes it far from a good game.

This grabs my attention because I like warhammer, its more team based, I like the tier system, more detailed game play (from what I've read) when it comes to make your character personal with different paths to take your character along, and there is an actual objective to it.. not just level up to max and complete all quests.. you have to siege all of your opponents cities etc which will each take days to weeks, so you log off and go to bed, wake up, log on, you're on a retreat or you're making the final push etc.

Seems recent MMOs just been shit, but I may give it a whirl. WoWs an ok game just too watered down imo (I'm use to like old school everquest type MMO's).

But back on topic I kinda liked there other game Dark Age of Camelot when it came out.

I LOVE WARHAMMER.

Have been trying to keep up with this. Looks pretty cool.

But just wait until the 40k MMO comes out. That's going to be so awesome.

I'd be down for playing on the same server, messing around on anarchy online atm and alittle bit of everquest 2.

I'll have to convince my mates to join same server too then

Although, I doubt an US person is going to pick a UK server?

I hope their tier system will be a fun pvp experience. Mythic hit gold with rvr in their last MMO daoc, so I'll be giving this game a try.

So who is still buying this? I'm going to try and get it on the day it comes out. We should all try and play on the same server.

I just hope it doesn't eat up my bandwidth.

Well its out..

But they took too long releasing this game, I'm bored of it already - and I didn't even play the beta

Seems like WoW 2 so far but I've only made it to level 15. I can't really work up the drive to actually play it anymore which is a bad thing. I am curious if it would be better at max level though.

After spending more time with the game I'm actually enjoying it a lot.

It feels very much like WoW but it's also completely different in terms of the RvR. Basically you'll feel like you're playing WoW except for in the PvP and the PvP is the main aspect of the game.

There are "scenarios" (battlegrounds) that are similar to WoW but provide more game types. By level 12 you have access to more "battlegrounds" than WoW ever had. There is king of the hill, capture the flag, capture points, hold the skull, capture points with trigger effects (explosion that kills everyone near it), and a few others so far.

The PvP is very group oriented if you want to really be strategic/tactical.

For example, the Magus gets an AE spell that sucks everyone within 65 feet into a rift so they all get stacked right on top of each other and then it snares everyone by 40%.

This organized group in a scenario was having a Magus do this and then their Sorcerers would just shred us with their AE as we all tried to run and spread out again.

Playing in a "zerg" style where you're mostly soloing is possible but not against an organized group as they'll just completely dominate you. To be successful at this game people are going to have to coordinate extremely well. All of the classes have a sort of symbiotic nature with the other classes so for everyone to operate at their maximum potential you need a solid organized group.

Oh and the "Open RvR" is a lot of fun if you get a bunch of people playing.

Nothing like using a battering ram to knock down the door of a keep while the enemy poors boiling oil on you wiping everyone out as the next wave rushes up to continue the assault. Then the keep door gets bashed in and everyone rushes in and a huge battle occurs. After wiping everyone out and preventing them from coming back into the keep you have to guard the door as you take down the keep lord to convert the keep to your side. There are also siege weapons like cannons and gigantic bows. These hit for a large amount of damage on players but have a long reload. My favorite is the "Light Repeater" which shoots out about 10 arrows really fast that rain down on the enemy. You can aim these weapons FPS style and adjust the power of the shot.

Basically I think if you're really into PvP and don't care much about questing or PvE then this is the game for you. When everyone gets to level 40 and ends up in the same area fighting over the keeps that allow you to raid your enemies capital city things are going to get insane. Even at level 15 I was in a Keep raid that had about 80 people involved. Total insanity, especially when both sides are unorganized.
