Vyvanse capsule question

I have been scripted 40, 50, and 60 mg Vyvanse and all of them are the same size capsules.

My question is do the higher doses contain a higher concentrated amphetamine mixture, or are they same mixture just compressed more so they can fit more into a capsule?

It is dextroamphetamine bonded to a amino acid. You can't crush, blow, or inject this in any effective way.


So, yeah, it is just a different ratio of binders to active chemical... Different pills, different mixture.

Thanks, I know its a pro-drug anyways and it cannot be abused, that was not my intention anyhow. I just opened my caps the the 60s seem to be more so in cylinder form compared to the 40s which are more powder form so I guess I'd assume its also more compressed, even though you said its a different mixture?

The reason is to relate the dose of the drug to the actual pill size.

The higher the dose, the bigger the casing, more filler is used.

This is not true. Lisdexamfetamine can be snorted and injected. If you read the prescribing information it says that monkeys/humans still got high after injecting lisdexamfetamine. It's converted to dextroamphetamine by the hydrolytic action of red blood cells, not trypsin like Shire would like everyone to believe. This is why the DEA made it CII and not CIII. It probably won't give a rush or anything but would still get you high.

What part of "effectively" do you not understand?

You can pressurize tires with water, but is that as effective as air?

^This. Bigger pill MUST mean a bigger dose, right!? Just a pharm company playing into / tricking the consumer's brains. 60mg of Vyvanse is probably only a few of those tiny beads - nevermind all of them entirely. Binders / fillers make up the majority of most pills.

You know I never realized this until reading your question. I'm going to have to go with the binders and fillers thing as well. I've emptied 40's and 30's but I don't remember much difference in the amount of powder.
the 40's seemed more compressed though.

And Snorting/injecting will hit you just not any faster or harder than orally.

I've been prescribed 20, 30, 50, and 70 mg capsules and the 50 mg capsules are always solid and the amount of solid is considerably less than any other strength. Its strange that the 60 mg caps would be solid and the 70s not. However, drug manufacturers don't do anything without reason...
