Hey all, I don't know if you guys have already posted a topic about this, but this is VERY important! Ending the war on drugs is the 2nd biggest issue in "Other issues" on Change.org, and if it's voted up to Number 1 (it only needs a few hundred votes), it will make it into the top 10 issues that will be presented at the event for Obama in Washington, D.C..

We should all try and bring this issue to the forefront, and let Obama know that we're sick and tired of Prohibition!

Do the right thing. Thanks guys...

Meh. We did this with the pot legalization question as well and that got shot down right quick. Not even a good explanation as to why. I will still vote though.

I just feel like if we can get this to reach number 1 in votes in the other issues section, the Obama team will once again be forced to address it and bring it up, in an event that will be publicized in Washington, D.C.. They will realize that there's quite a number of people that care about this issue, not just the 4000 or so that have voted on it thusfar, because there isn't a great deal of people that have gotten on his website.

This "Idea" just came to my attention. It has about 400 more votes than the one I linked you to. I clicked on "Top rated ideas" and this was the first...so it seems as if we're currently succeding in putting this out there.

^ go here to vote this one up, it's currently #1! Lets keep it number 1.

The pot one shot to #1 as well and was dismissed with a simple

Q: "Will you consider legalizing marijuana so that the government can regulate it, tax it, put age limits on it, and create millions of new jobs and create a billion dollar industry right here in the U.S.?" S. Man, Denton

A: President-elect Obama is not in favor of the legalization of marijuana.

Sorry. Don't mean to be a cynic but. . . ya. I signed up and voted FWIW.
