Opioids Vomiting during moderate intensity exercise ? Is it bc of recreational drug use?

I used to play sports all through out high school but stopped once I got to college. That is also around the time I started using drugs recreationally (smoking weed, popping various pills, benzos, adderall, and opiates). So I messed around like this for a 2-3 years, not exercising like I should and generally not taking care of my body. A few months ago, I started training in martial arts like I used to back in high school. Obviously, my conditioning is pathetic and I'm gassed within 10-15 minutes of class (1 hour moderate level intensity). Since I started training again, I've still kept some bad habits like smoking weed, taking adderall a few times a week (60mgs/day), and the occasional benzo. I also picked up a small fentanyl habit after my dad got diagnosed with cancer. I would "cheek" a portion of the patches that he had left over(new patches of course). I would probably go through 1-2 100mcg patches a week. I've been doing this off/on since early June and daily since July.

My problem is that I start to get very nauseous as my heart rate goes up during exercise and almost always end up puking about 20-30 minutes into the session. It's embarrassing to say the least and its keeping me from getting better. This happens practically every time, regardless if I have taken anything that day or not. I'm guessing its either the drugs or some weird underlying condition that the doctors don't know about. I've gotten blood tests and I'm deficient in Vitamin D but that's it (and nausea/vomiting are not symptoms of D deficiency).

I guess my question is has/does this ever happen to any of you guys? If so what do you do about it? I'm pretty convinced its the drugs so I am in the process quitting everything, which as we all know is easier said than done. I've tried taking anti-nausea/emetics like phenergan, zofran, but they don't help any.

Didn't read it all but sounds like you're just out of shape. You never saw the trash bin in the gym the first week of wrestling season? Happens man.

But yes smoking and amphetamine use is bad on your heart and isn't good for you. So it could contribute some. Also if you're serious about getting in shape enough to fight, I mean even to spar, go for a run every day. And probably lay off the uppers and the smoking. Vape, if anything. You're not in high school anymore ;)

Just read it all.. Just keep training and def rinse out your mouth after it happens. It stinks for everyone else, and for you, bad for your teeth

I would venture a guess that it could be the fent. It's super potent, man. If you're not physically addicted to it yet, I'd quit it. I know it can cause nausea on its own, so I imagine that goes double if you add a good work out.

Opioids would be the first thing I would blame for nausea. Not only can they cause nausea when you're on them, they can cause nausea in withdrawal as well.

Either that, or you are pushing your body too hard, too fast.

I figured it was all that shit. My sport/health is way more important to me than these lame highs so I'm just going to c/t everything. Judging from what I wrote, how bad/long should the fent w/d be? Like I said, I was cheeking/plugging an average of two 100mcg patches a week for about 2 months. I read an ER study published online that the half-life for trans-buccal (cheeking) administration of fentanyl patches was 12hrs (compared to the 20-30hr half life trans-dermally).

I run a ton and never had issues, despite using various substances.

Maybe you can lower your intensity and duration of exercise and ramp your way up at a comfortable pace. It's really difficult to pinpoint exactly what is causing your issues.

That's the spirit! I imagine 2 months wouldn't cause any significant pain; it might be uncomfortable, but you can muscle through it, especially if you exercise/have a good diet etc. Any w/ds would most likely be psychological in nature.
