Any good drinks that mask the taste of vodka really well? also, is there some type of drink that you can mix with vodka that lessens any type of hangover the next day?

Good things to mix vodka with:
-energy drink (NOT red bull, which I despise, but KMX or Sobe brands are tasty...)
-chambourd (raspberry liquor)
-freshly-squeezed OJ
Drink an 8 oz glass of water for every shot of alchol you have and that should help your hangover plenty.

Yep Fairynymph is 100% spot on about the OJ,the fresher the better.

wow, finally the bartending skills come in handy on bluelight! here are a few:
1 oz vodka, 1/2 oz triple sec or chambord, 1/2 oz sweet and sour= kamikaze or rapsberry kamikaze
1/2 oz vodka, 1/2 oz midori, 1 oz oj= mellon ball
1/2 oz vodka, 1/2 oz midori, 1/2 oz chambord, 1/2 oz oj, 1/2 oz pineapple juice= sex on the beach
1/2 oz vodka, 1/2 oz peach schnapps, 1 oz oj= peach fuzz
1 oz kahlua, 1 oz vodka, splash of soda= mind eraser
1 oz vodka, 1/2 oz sweet and sour, squeeze 1/2 a lemon= lemon drop
if you get tired of these drop me a line, there's plenty more!

I say if you're gunna drink to get drunk, then grab some 151, take a few shots, chase it with something powerfull, then lay back and think to yourself "gee, I wish I had some benzos so I don't have to drink like a frat boy"...

The powdered drink that comes with the full meal MREs. Kool-aid. Gatorade (helps with dehydration/hangovers, too!) Tampico/Tang/Sunny Delight. Cranberry juice cocktail.

Just buy some Smirnoff Raspberry Twist or Smirnoff Vanilla Twist.. For the Raspberry, mix with Sprite.. tastes just like Raspberry Sprite, no hint of a vodka taste.. and for the Vanilla, it makes the Coke taste like Cream Soda.
I'm VERY liberal with the amount of Vodka I put in a drink, usually about a 40-60 mix, and it tastes great to me. =T

Speaking with 6 years of living in Poland behind me:
Hangovers: Not all brands give the same amount of hangover. Generally the more processed the brand the worse the hangover. Smirnoff is pretty bad, cheap brands are worse. Look for pure grain vodkas, Wyborowa is a great one, Bols is ok, Absolute is not worth the extra cost.
ALWAYS FREEZE YOUR VODKA!!! Leave it in the freezer for 48 hours before you drink it. There are always two full bottle in my freezer. Freezing it kills the taste and seperates out the impurities (never drink the last quarter inch, that's where all the shit filters to). If the consistancy is like oil you've got it the right temperature. It won't solidify until it gets down to minus 45 and your freezer doesn't go that low (It has been know for people to freeze themselves to death here and in Russia by drinking vodka straight from a bottle that was left outdoors when the temperature went below minus 40, do that and you'll freeze to death from the inside out).
Hangovers are mainly dehydration. 3 litres of water and two aspirin before bed.
Mixing to get drunk or to kill the taste? If killing the taste then mad-dogs are the way (half an inch of grenadine with half an inch of vodka on top plus a drop of tabasco for the first, two drops for the second, three for the third and so on). Or think about favoured vodka (pepper is a good one) - you can make your own flavored vodka, for example throw a handful of peppercorns into a bottle of vodka and leave it for three days. If you're drinking to get drunk then mix with something fizzy because the bubbles increase the surface area of the alcohol that your stomach has to work with. Remember that your body can't absorb higher than 22% alcohol so drinking shots doesn't actually get you drunk any quicker than drinking 50/50 mixtures, you're just storing up alcohol for a dose of alcoholl poisoning!

I agree with what Harry said 100%: FREEZE the vodka! It makes a helluva difference. Don't agree with the aspirin, necessarily, before bedtime because it can cause a sore stomache - but maybe that's just me. I go with acetaminophen with codeine and a big OJ before bed and that seems to eliminate the hangover.

Definately freeze that vodka, that's great fucking advice. And as for brands, ever since I've tried grey goose, I won't even TOUCH anything else.

It might be wise to note that popping tylenol to avoid a hangover immediately after a heavy night of drinking is probably not the kindest thing to do to your liver. I'd stick with the aspirin.

ahh, all these pussy drinks, just take shots. It'll hurt for a second, but it is definitley the best way to take vodka.
