I've been on the dreaded vivitrol for three months now and it works beautifully as far as blocking heroin goes. However, once in awhile I need some relief from the daily toils of life. Most of the time, a 12 step meeting does the trick, but other times, being an addict, the meetings do not suffice. I can get drunk on the shot, but drinking means a hangover and I am convinced benzos are the devil. So, from time to time, I will IV 2-4mgs of subutex or suboxone, and boy oh boy, does it work like a charm! It busts right through the blockade and I feel amazing for 12 hours. There are no withdrawals, save for some slight malaise, when it wears off either, although I never dosed for more than 3 consecutive days. Yes, the theory/fact that bupe has a higher affinity for the mu receptors is true as the sky Iis blue.
I felt I had an obligation to post this as a google search yields little to no anecdotal evidence with regards to bupe and vivitrol used in conjunction.
