video game: Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Nintendo Wii)

yeah so i've been on spring break playing this for a bit, quite a sick game. ever since the first one on 64 i've been using yoshi, and i'm glad to see he's really playable in this one. my other characters are meta knight and ice climbers.

this one is definitely the best yet, and if you own a wii there's no reason to not buy one.

compared to melee, brawl is frustratingly slooooow for me. I used to play falco, and they've kinda messed him up, imo. I've moved onto wolf.

slow? it feels like the game is way more frantic than ever.

i see where you're going, but the newer levels feel crazier (warioware, pictochat), and they've made some of the characters who were too slow a little more faster, so there's more balance. at least that's what it feels like. so fox/falco can't just run around hitting up+smash.

I see everything kind of flattening, which I'm not so sure is a good move. Even sonic isn't that much faster than an average speed character like link or mario.

What type of game would you say this is? I have been contemplating buying it Is it 3-d like galaxy...I only ask because that game makes me dizzy in certain parts.

i found melee to be too much of a button basher. some neat concepts for sure. i just didn't get that into it.

This game is awesome. Better when played with friends, of course, but they JAM PACKED it with content for solo players, as well. I am really enjoying it on a rental, and will probably go out and buy it despite promising myself to not buy any more videogames for awhile.

I hate to say it, but I liked Smash Bros: Melee more. I feel like Brawl has too much shit going on with the billion items available at any given time (yes, I know you can turn the spawn frequency down). I also really dislike some of the maps, as they are fucking enormous and make it hard to see wtf you are doing (even on bigger tvs). The large maps also make the pace of the game messed up, as people can hop around endlessly to escape a fight or wait for an item. I really like the new characters available in Brawl, it just doesn't feel quite the same as the previous smash bros games. I really wanted to like this game; it just didn't live up to my expectations overall. I can't remember the last time anyone wanted to play Brawl, yet I still play Melee fairly often. I'm not saying I hated it or even disliked it, I just feel like it had more potential than what we got after all the hype
