The new soul caliber is out, and it's pretty fucking sick. Anyone got it? It's fun to play online. My fav characters are taki and that cerbius (sp) guy. This is the sort of fighter that's easy to pick-up but takes awhile to master, and a lot of skill and strategy is involved when playing decent opponents.

Is this game really that good? I've pretty much hated every fighting game I've played since Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter II. Not sure why.

If I hated Dead or Alive 4 for 360 will I hate this game?

Dead or Alive is a fucking joke, and always has been. IIRC, some guy won a major DOA tournament by flat out button mashing.

SC4 is pretty button mashing friendly, but there's actually a level of depth to it wherein if you become skilled enough nobody will have a chance beating you with button mashing. It's nowhere near as hard to learn as Virtua Fighter though.

Yeah, it's fun online. It'd be even funner if every single fight wasn't against Kilik, Maxi, Cervantes, or Nightmare/Siegfried. At least people don't spam Yoda as much as I figured they would. Fuck that character. Whenever someone picks Yoda they always suck, so I beat them by crouching and doing one move over and over just to piss them off. Fuck Yoda.

Soul Blade and all of the Soul Caliber games are the best beat em ups are out there, bar none.
Absolutely loved them. Easy to play once you understand the basics, then you learn a few moves and build up combos, then in no time you just ignore that and use intuition and kick ass. It's one of those series where they seem to have got the controls just right.

Can't wait to play it online sometime.

yeah i'm not really into fighters either, but this is the 1st one in a while that's semi holding my interest. plus you can build your own characters, you can basicly make anyone you want . i've seen subzeros, ryus, hulks, batman everything. i made my own hellboy.

OMG! I hadn't seen that. Haven't had a proper sit down and play yet.
Must buy a new console, really.

I went out and bought it yesterday and I agree it kicks ass.

I was playing online and decided to check out the "armor/weapons" mode and it took me a bit to find a match so by the time I started fighting I'd forgotten I was in this mode. I had no custom characters at that point. I was getting my ass beat down in like 3-4 hits and couldn't touch anyone. I was getting really pissed off then I realized what mode I was playing in. Felt pretty stupid ;)

rate it!

must admit, i turned off the demo real quick once i saw how the player were moving to my controls, i hated it, but then by reading everyone's comments, i guess i need to give it some time....
i dunno about paying for a fighter though
