I've acquired a single pill of 7.5 mg Vicoprofen which I believe also contains 200 mg ibuprofen.

Should I take it with food? (Assuming I'll even get high)

Perform a cold water extraction? (even though I never have before)

I apologize if this belongs in BDD.
 
Sometimes ibuprofen upsets stomach so maybe a little food in your stomach would be helpful.
No need for cold water extraction, just take as any other pill.
 
As the above posters said, a little food or a glass of milk just to protect your stomach from the ibruprofen. However unless you suffer with a GI issue ie. Ulcer, hiatus hernia, GERD. Then you should be fine regardless, 200mg and 7.5mg is a small dose of both these drugs and excluding allergies or interactions with other meds, is pretty benign.
 
Well - 200mg ibuprofen one time won't present problems, but over a long period of time it will accumulate and get worse. Actually, milk doesn't help - it does the opposite, it can mask the problems of a stomach ulcer but it will come back worse (the pain). I can't remember where I read it but milk does not help in the prevention of ulcers and can actually make them more likely to occur. Eating a good healthy meal and lots of water is the best way to go.

Ah, thats interesting about the milk. Shame theres not a link with some more info in that. I was just going by the packaging on an old box of ibruprofen that was lieing around.lol I cant take NSAIDs myself, ive got a large hiatus hernia and suffer GERD so I can only go by what that box said. Interesting statement though synthetix. :-)

^ Extremely unlikey, 7.5mg is a very small dose of opiates.. you will probably feel warm, comfortable, and a little buzzed if you have no opiate tolerance.
Just keep the meal light, I would say just eat a snack so your stomach isn't completely empty.

To the OP have you tried taking Omeprazole?
I'm sure your doctor has told you about it, but if he hasn't then slap him first, and then ask him why he never mentioned it.

Here have a look.

And forgive me if you already are aware of the product, but it is useful info and the medicine works from day one. (For me anyway).

They just want to get high on the Vicoprofen, are opiate naive, and wanted suggestions on not getting nausea.

It was bunge who has the hernia and GERD.

Yup unlucky for me, ive got the GERD and hernia, its actually playing havoc with me at the moment. That will teach me for eating gumbo!lol im already on lansoprazole (cousin drug of ome prazole, preferred for serious acid problems) and peptac (generic gaviscon, but better imo). The omeprazole is a good nugget of advice for anyone on NSAIDs longterm where stomach upset is experienced. My dad has an ulcer that in the words of his specialist is the largest one hes ever seen, bigger then a 50p piece after a 24hr fast. This was caused by diclofenac and ibuprofen, so the danger shouldnt be shrugged off by any means. For a one off experience though, ranitidine would ease any excess acid in someone worried about ibuprofen and stomach damage. @synthetix
On futher investigation I discovered that milk is advised on all of the top ten results when I googled ibuprofen patient info, including patient uk (website even health professionals use in the uk for advice on meds). I didnt see anything on milk and stomach ulcers so im not saying your wrong. Just that my advice was correct, ibuprofen can be taken with food or milk to ease stomach discomfort.
 
You can take up to 2000mg of ibuprofen in one sitting safely. 200mg isn't going to do any damage or cause nausea. Don't know why everyone is so worked up on this thread - the Op only had one tablet too. Think it's time it got closed.
