This is actually not by me...this was written by my best friend Chris, who [most likely] killed himself last year over Memorial Day Weekend. Of the lyrics that he wrote (there're *a lot* of them), these are the ones I've always liked the most. The last verse is based on a story that his wife told him shortly after they first met...needless to say, she hated this!! :)
Very Thin Walls
The party rages on
It's two o'clock in the morning upstairs
Laughter permeates
It escapes through the walls
Very thin walls
I can hear their music playing
It is loud and I can
Make out most the lyrics
of the song that's blaring
A hazy silhouette
of a girl that is dancing wildly
Paints an oddly provoking
Picture on my wall
Very thin walls
My hand moves towards the face
In the shadows swaying
She turns away it appears
As if she was in the midst of saying...
A little girl
Walks into the room
Her mother sitting there already
She wonders why
And she darts back down the hall
I can hear her cry
From in the room
Where on the bed she's laying
Her eyes are closed, she sees
Herself outside in the flowers playing.
She's considering yesterday.

i'm sorry that happened, but it seems like you recovered well.
i'm really glad you're sharing his work with bl, he lives on in his words.
i liked this song, thanks again.

this was really beautiful and heartfelt. i'm glad you had the opportunity to keep his words alive... i think he would look down on you and smile for that.

thanks for reading, girls :) you both make my day constantly :)
