Last night i a shot of H and after my first little push it burned like hell so I withdrew. Then I got a terrible burn and itch feeling and I looked down and the veins above and below my elbow turned Bright Red! I could see each vein and it was scary!! It itched and burned for like a full min then went away.

What the hell happened to me??!!

sounds like an allergic reaction from missing. either from the heroin's histamine release in the spot you missed or possibly something from the cut.

It is normal to have a burn and itch in the vein from morphinian type drugs.

This is histamine release.

You may have scored some really good dope or you missed.

Either one of those sound about right for your case.

Are you registering?

Yeah, peoples bodies react slightly differently to missed shots/reactions. Sometimes it send out red strands from the site, lumps up, bubbles, etc.

But yeah, just be careful next time and make sure you are definitely in the vein before pushing down.

Antihistamines will help to control the irritation . In an extreme case, there are certain creams that help but you may need a docs prescription for them.

They do. But, you must refrain from trying to split your arm open like some folks...

Ahhh! What do you mean? Like trying to cut them open to see if they drain?

I though it was just swollen tissue or perhaps scar tissue.

Any ideas on how long it would take to clear up? And this only happens if you miss? I seem to have a real problem with getting anything to register. After what feels like an hr if I still can't register then I just push in a spot that doesn't hurt or burn too bad. I know that I miss a lot I swear I can't get any blood until I take the pin out. Then it's a gusher!

Do you know hat the creams are called? Do you know how they would help?

Some cortisone creams from the doctor might help.
Cortisone is a steroid and steroids can treat extreme reactions where antihistamines dont help much.
The above poster suggestion of benadyl ointment would be a better place to start; unless of course you fancy explaining it to a doc?lol
Please read up some on correct i.v techs and equipment as taking nearly an hour to find a vein is no good whatsoever and 'hit and guess' is a very dangerous way of injecting.
Your veins might be quite difficult as some peoples are but much more likely is that your using unsuitable 'works' or very bad technique and if you continue in this way then you have lots more complications to deal with in the future.

Most misses clear up in 24 hours. If it's a bad miss, you still might have some swelling, but the major redness and bubbles, etc, should go away in a day.
