Misc Vaporizing Different drugs using Metal pipe?

I have a small metal pipe that looks like this

But it has a screw on lid with a small hole in the middle.I was wondering if it would be safe to vaporize drugs is this (dmt, dpt are going to be the primary candidates. Do you guys think it would be safe using a normal lighter and this pipe? I also might try and use for dabs.
 
I don't think you can vaporise drugs in that sort of pipe it looks like a weed pipe which you put the flame directly on the drug in the bowl. It would work for SMOKING DMT but I don't see how it would VAPORISE drugs since you are putting a direct flame on the drugs. The cover with the hole in it is so you can pack a bowl and not worry about any nugs of weed falling out or getting blown away while still being able to light it through the hole. I think I have one similar to that pipe but only use it for weed.

Yea I use for weed, but wasn't really sure about the purpose of the hole in the top, but that makes sense. I was thinking holding the flame to the side of the bowl with the lid on for vaping, but your theory sounds much more realistic and useful.
