Hey guys. I've been using Suboxone recreationally for a while now (about once a week I will take 1 mg). I know that it is bad for my heart, and has a minor effect on my muscle retention, but I was wondering if there are any other long-term effects from using this drug? From what I know, Suboxone is a new drug and has a lot of artificial chemicals in it, many of which haven't been around long enough for long term testing. Is there a chance that I will see critical debilitations/side effects in my future? I plan on living as long as possible :)

Please let me know if you have heard from you doctors or any friends about negative side effects. Note that my usage is quite low compared with most other abusers of the drug, but I still have a basically "routine" dosage of once a week. I do not take any other pain pills, only 420 smoke (no cigarettes anymore! Finally!!!!). I want to keep my heart/liver as healthy as possible!! If you guys know about any toxins this drug leaves in your body or any damage it can do to your heart, I am fully ready to drop the drug.

Thank you!
Rob

i wouldn't worry too much about once a week, it's gonna be tough to keep it at that though because while it isn't a full opioid agonist it still hits the receptors, and more frequent use will cause dopesickness.

As an ex opiate addict dude you're playing with fire, in my opinion suboxone was 10 times worse to detox from then the 3-6 opanas I was doing daily, and I was only taking 1mg or less a day when I jumped off and it fucked with me hard for like a month, now I know youre only taking like 1mg a week and it's not a full agonist you can still get very sick from coming off it. And I know your only doing it once a week, but it is sooo easy to increase usage from that point on and by the time you start getting dopesick from subs you're going to be royally fucked, cuz there is no drug to help u come off subs, that's what u take to come off opiates, and the detox from subs is wayyy worse. And in your case it is more likely to be worse because 99% of the people who take subs start at high doses and gradually taper off, but you, if you continue use, will gradually and slowly build a strong dependence to subs dude just like someone does heroin, and at that point, you got some rough days ahead of you
