Heroin Using methadone to withdraw off heroin

Hi I want to use methadone to come off H how can I do this what's the protocol.

- how long do I wait since my last hit before dosing methadone.
- how much do I take
- how often
- how long for

I've been using point a day for 2 weeks

If its been just two weeks, which at this point its been three, you should really try to come off without longterm maintenance. You do not need to be hooked forever just because you had a rough point in life. You will most definitely feel shitty, but hardcore wds can take a longer period of use for some folks to start experiencing. Wish you luck.

Yeah just try stopping cold turkey, if you continue to keep using and feel you have no other choice but to go down the path of methadone then speak to your doctor, go on a low dose and seek to tapper off it over a couple of weeks.

Really just come off. Methadone is a lot harder to get off than H. And you shouldn't really have any very significant WDs after only a couple weeks. Maybe just taper yourself down by decreasing the dose every day by 10 mg if you wanna go easy.

Sorry my English but it’s not my mother language .

I was using heroin for one month every day and then methadone for exactly 7 days with tapering.

Well, everyone is different but what I did was :
I took methadone when I started to feel the withdrawals, let’s say 12 h after my last fix. I don’t remember exactly how much I took but I was dosing 2-3 times the first day so my opinion is to take as much as you feel you need- start with small dose and if it’s not enough after 1-2 hours take a little more, if it’s still not enough after 1-2 hours take again a little more . The point is at the end of day 1 to be with 0 withdrawals. After that start tapering the methadone till day 7 when you take the minimum you can possibly take .

I remember on day 8 I didn’t have any withdrawals but I couldn’t sleep well for the next 3-4 weeks which was not a big deal for me because at least I didn’t have withdrawals.

....fock I remember when they open the first methadone program in capital in early 2000...there was banner "Welcome to methadone program"...I still got goose bumps when i remember that shit......something like "Welcome to hell"-"Who goes here never goes out"....All hope abandon, ye who enter here. The more a thing is perfect, the more it feels pleasure and pain."....yeaah....it reminds me than the Dante's inferno......ofcourse a lotof people get out succesfully.....but maaan methadone ain't no jjoke....if u are someone from these living deads from Kensingtone,Philly....all right go in methadone......but to change H habbit with a week long withdrawl to go in M.program.......think twice better man...Good luck and may Jah helps u!
