I went to the hospital for some mild dehydration and the nurse put an IV in the vein in the left side of my right arm, so that they could hook me up right away in case i needed any fluids, meds, whatever.
There was no need and the doctor sent me on my way , but I still have the IV taped to my arm. Once I am properly hydrated I have decided to shoot some of my own stash.
Let me be clear that I have never IVed anything before in my life - I decided not to because am a thin female with bad veins- sometimes even nurses miss when drawing blood, or call in someone else to assist.
Here however almost all the work has been done for me and I am less worried about injuring myself. I'd appreciate it if someone could help detail the last few steps specific to my situation (I have already read several general IV guides)... e.g. what type of needle to use, how to insert it into my hospital IV, how not to miss, any other risks or ways to mess up the shot, etc) I know it must seem obvious but this is new territory for me and I want to be safe. thanks!
