Using 0.5 mg Xanax once every 4 days . would that build tolerance or withdrawal ?

And every 4 days if i dont need it i would skip it and all i would use is 0.5 mg . My primary benzo is valium which i use at most 7.5 mg of which is less than 0.5 mg xanax and its good for me . I use the valium every 3 days so would using the xanax every 4 days 0.5 cause tolerance or withdrawal ? I dont want benzo withdrawal

Probably not, but it depends on how long you've been taking this schedule and some other factors as well. Just to be safe you should probably start a taper - go down to .25 every four days on the Xanax and see how you feel, and you can decide from there.

There is no need to taper at this dose, with xanax short half life and the dose being .5mg you're completely fine no dependence or even tolerance would develop.

Agreed that there is no chance for either.. It really takes daily use to become dependent on this stuff.. I've used it for years on a as needed basis, and have never had any issues. Sometimes I need it for three or four days, then not again for a week or even a month. Usually I end up taking it once a week to help me sleep thru the night.
