As I stare into the light
I am not sure which, but
I either was pulled
or I flung myself
into the darkness
that my I had my back turned to
all of this time
It took me deeper
and as I fell
I kept staring into the light
Looking at that which
I was leaving behind
and as I fell
I saw the world
more beautiful than I had ever seen it before.
And I wanted to be there again,
But then I turned and saw the dark…
I had never noticed it before
its beautiful ways
singing directly into my soul
I opened up and let it enter me
and I called it home.
I turned and saw
Everything I never needed
I saw others like me
all with a smirk on their faces
like a reflection
of my own
And as I was finishing up
my warm welcome
I turned and walked father into the darkness
until I was alone
I looked ahead of me
and a small shiny thing caught my eye
I turned and reached out for it -
for it reminded me of my days gone by -
and upon meeting,
I am flung back into reality.
When I try to turn my face to the dark again
the light keeps catching my eye
messing me up, slowing me down
making my voyage back
almost
impossible.
So I stay
in reality.
I don't know what to think anymore.
