Unknown substance, where to start?

Long story short, I acquired this small zip lock bag with maybe 1-2g of white powder. No idea what the contents of the bag are, since I didn't exactly buy it. (Yes okay, I found drugs on the ground outside a club)

Nowadays I'm more into pills (benzos, opioids) and psychedelics, but the my addict heart couldn't stand to throw away drugs.

I know just how stupid it is to even consider taking an unknown substance. Then again taking drugs in general is stupid.

So how would you go about? The fact that it was outside of a club makes me think coke/speed, but I guess it could be ketamine, or something else. Should I just order a bunch of test kits and test through everything? I'd feel kind of stupid spending like 80$ on regents I'm going to use once, since I don't really do any of those substances nowadays. I have fentanyl test strips, and it came out negative.

I'm not sure if it costs anything. It could be more expensive than reagents..

Then again, reagents will only tell you so much. You can never truly identify a substance with reagents - only make an educated guess.

So GC/MS analysis would be the HR way to go

If you're really only ever going to test substances once more in the next couple of years it would make sense to send it to Energy Control International instead of buying a pack of multi-use tests that expire after a couple of years.

However, I would suggest putting it in the bin. If people drop good, expensive drugs they go back and look for them. If they drop drugs that had shitty effects or were cheap then they don't bother. So you're much more likely to have unpleasant effects from this.

Yeah but we both know the addict in him as self admitted is going, "yeah but what if they just got so well blasted they didn't know they lost it till they got home" there will always be a think around.

How is the substance? Shards, paste, powder? Coke and speed are very easy to know only by the smell. Its a good thing if it tested negative for fetty.

Id probably volumetric dose it and then give it a go on my oral mucosa and see if I liked it. I fucking love drugs and absolutely have ruined my life chasing feelings though. Ultimately every drug makes you feel bad over a long enough time so exercise extreme caution. You could be throwing your life away. Or you could have found two grams of heroin that would be basically doing the same thing. I mean what do you want to get out of this mystery substance. Volumetric dose a single .1 grams down to the microgram level. I think that would be dissolving .1 in 1 ml and then adding another ml and then rub s finge dip on the oral mucosa. Use your sense of taste. Identify the flavor of it. Bitter is usually opiates.sweet is usually benzos. Nasty bitter is usually Molly. I mean none of this is science. You’d essentially be doing science as if it were the 18th century. Extremely dangerous and possibly stupid. Or send it in somewhere and have it identified. I mean. I’ve done way stupider shit. Every bag I’ve ever bought has been an unknown substance at the bottom of everything. Throwing your life away can be fun. I hope you find sunshine in that bag of yours. I only found a hole I’ve been trying to climb out of for two years. Here’s to feeling good all the time !

Sorry for being a downer. Just send a point or two to the experts and see if they can get it identified for you. Would hate to see you die pursuing something that really should be a free and happy experience. I just live in a fucking narco state where the government enslaves drug users and bans safe supplies so I think I might have come across as cynical when I truly love the unknown substance and find it very exciting. I snorted some random shit off a guys hand in the prime rib district once when I was particularly desperate. It was some kind of meth and made my dope sickness immediately so much worse but I guess made me look fucked up and word spread around that I was down and I got to pick up and get well. All hail the unknown substance. Should be a fucking god.
