So I am somewhat intrigued by the ultra low dose naloxone being used to lower ones opiate tolerance. Obviously the nasal Narcan units with teh atomizer and the little vial of naloxone are pretty easy to come by, I for one have no problem acquiring one. But is anyone familiar with a means of using one of these vials to administer a ULD of naloxone? My first thought is drain it into a nasal spray, any other ideas?

How exactly is it used to lower one's tolerance? Wouldn't the user have to experience withdrawals as part of any process involving narcan? This is the first I've heard of this...

(I mean, obviously I understand that someone who has taken narcan/naloxone or naltrexone... any antagonist really... for an extend period of time will clearly become opioid naive & have a much lower tolerance - which could also be achieved by abstaining from opioids altogether - but wouldn't the user have to experience painful & unpleasant withdrawals? Are you saying narcan can somehow SPEED UP the process of opioid naivety?)

There is some reports of using very low doses, like .01s of a mg, this will not be anywhere near enough to cause w/d's. It is believed to work for naltrexone and with naloxone it would be based on a similar mechanism of action. The basic idea is like its re-energizing he opiate receptors. I believe it would take more than 1 ULD, more like if done daily you would begin to see a drop in tolerance over time/.

are we talking about while youre currently on opiates or sober or what? and just so you know if this makes any difference it will likely be very small and hard to notice.

Good question - I'm still not really clear on this. Even in very small doses like @RTrain was talking about I just don't see how it could "re-energize" the mu receptors whilst someone was taking opioids? It seems that withdrawals would be inevitable for this to work - and I just don't know many opioid users that would think that worth any minimal difference it might make.
