I’d like to share one of the best meals after the use of MDMA or any empathogen which drains and inhibits serotonin functioning.
In order to replace that serotonin one must eat a diet rich in tryptophan. A bowl of chili contains multiple foods which are at the top of the list in tryptophan content. Red meat, beans, tomatoes, and cheese/sour cream on top.
It also has a decent antioxidant potential as the tomatoes are cooked making the lycopene more bioavailable, it has garlic and onion which have some of the highest antioxidant potential of all vegetables due to their flavonoid glycosides, peppers which contain more Vit C than oranges, and in the recipe I’ll provide honey and cocoa powder as well with even more bioavailable flavonoids.
It’s slow cooked easy to digest nature further adds to the bioavailability of the nutrients within. And what makes this roller friendly is the ability to cook this long before the session then have it in the fridge ready to re-heat when the time comes. Another option would be to start the slow cooker before dosing then let it go until you are ready to eat after the session.
Then to finish off with something sweet we’ll do a smoothie also high in tryptophan and antioxidants.
A smoothie containing banana, pineapple, mango, walnuts, milk/oatmilk and honey is perfect. All of which either contain tryptophan, antioxidants or both.
Remember when using honey for its antioxidant potential it MUST be raw, unfiltered and unpasteurized. Use grass fed and finished beef. And of course organic everything. (You can shell out the extra cash for this, hopefully special, occasion.)

Chili Recipe:
- 2 pounds ground beef, grass fed and finished
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 5 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 large jalapeno peppers, minced (remove the seeds and veins for less heat…leave them for more heat)
- 1/4 cup chili powder
- 3 tablespoons ground cumin
- 2 tablespoons ground cayenne pepper, Or more if you like a lot of heat!
- 2 tablespoon crushed red pepper
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup honey (raw, unfiltered)
- 1 – 28 ounce can tomato sauce
- 1 – 28 ounce can crushed fire roasted tomatoes
- salt and pepper to taste
- In a large frying pan, brown the ground beef until no longer pink and transfer to the slow cooker using a slotted spoon. Drain off all but two tablespoons of fat and add the onions to the pan.
- Cook the onions over med-high heat until they begin to soften. Add the peppers to the onions and sauté until softened. Add the garlic and jalapeno peppers, cooking for one minute longer. Transfer the mixture to the slow cooker with the beef.
- Add the chili powder, cumin, cayenne pepper, cocoa powder, crushed red pepper, sweet peppers and juice to the beef mixture and stir to combine.
- Add the honey, tomato sauce and crushed tomatoes stirring thoroughly to be sure all the ingredients are incorporated. Season with salt and pepper to taste and cook in the slow cooker on high for 3-4 hours or low for 5-6 hours.
- Serve with your favorite chili toppings, greek yogurt, sour cream, shredded cheddar, green onions, and pickled jalapenos…just to name a few.
Smoothie Recipe:
- ½ cup Greek yogurt
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup milk (if dairy free sub with yogurt and milk with 2/3 cup oatmilk)
- 1 cup frozen diced mango*
- 1 ½ cups fresh pineapple
- 1 banana (room temperature, broken into chunks)
- ½ cup ice cubes
- 1 drizzle maple syrup or honey, if desired**
- Place all ingredients in a blender in the order listed, breaking the banana into pieces. Blend until creamy and frothy, stopping and scraping down the sides as necessary, and adding a bit more liquid if necessary.
- Taste and if necessary, add a drizzle of honey depending on the ripeness of your pineapple (you likely will not need it). Serve immediately or store in a covered jar in the refrigerator for 1 day.

Top 10 Foods Highest in Tryptophan
Tryptophan is an essential amino acid needed for general growth and development, producing niacin, and creating serotonin in the body. High tryptophan foods include chicken, turkey, red meat, pork, tofu, fish, beans, milk, nuts, seeds, oatmeal, and eggs. The reference dietary intake (RDI) for...
