Hey guys -
I wanted to recommend you try out UO Renaissance. I don't know if any of you have played Ultima Online in the past, currently play, or even haven't ever played but it's awesome. I'm seriously addicted to this game all over again and haven't even touched Assassin's Creed 3 since getting it because of UOR.

I know that people might think the game is old or free shards are lame or whatever but I cannot recommend this one enough. The staff is absolutely fantastic, there are patches each week, the features they are adding are things that needed to happen during the original OSI days.. it's absolutely amazing.

UO almost destroyed me.
I dont think it exists anymore, but I played on a shard called alternate-pk.

The idea was to kill one another. It was really a make or break kind of place.
Either you gave up after the 1000th time a dude popped out of stealth and killed you, or you stuck with it long enough to be that guy that pops out of stealth and kills you.

I wasn't very good at it. Spent most of my time acting like a newbie (because I was). People would make me armor. One gave me a house. A woman (I think) dressed me up in a very tight leather suit, gave me a matching horse of sorts, and I got to be cool. Following her around in tight leather. I think it must have been for humor, but it was armor.

Does 8x8 skills still work?

You mean macroing and moving?

I think it is not needed. Macroing is ok as long as it isn't being used to gather resources (iron, lumber, fish) or sell goods to vendors. The anti macro code is pretty sick - you have a chance (small) when you do these activities to be prompted with a gump that asks you to identify the object that doesn't fit with the others.

So you can macro up your dudes to your heart's content - just don't macro to earn gold. As such, I believe they removed 8x8.
