My script on paper reads "Adderall", but I receive D-Amp at the pharmacy. I understand that traditional Adderall is 1/4 Levoamphetamine and 3/4 Dextroamphetamine.

1) Is this intended by my doctor, or does it depend on which pharmacy I go to?

2) Is there a way to bring this up in discussion with a doctor without throwing any red flags? I use my prescription appropriately, and don't want him to think otherwise. However, D-Amp does not do the job for me like DL-Amp does (I've had it before from a previous doctor). Furthermore, D-Amp not working for me has lead to increased tolerance for me as I've had to take more than my intended dose to achieve desired effects.
* I am looking for honest, effective conversation starters here, not tricks to use.

Any advice/suggestions for either question would be greatly appreciated.
 
either your doctor prescribed you d-amphetamine, or the pharmacy is just substituting drugs for you for some strange reason.
ask your doctor about it. just ask him why the pharmacy gives you d-amphetamine instead of adderall which you thought you were prescribed. it's not going to throw any red flags. he might just tell you that you're prescribed d-amphetamine all along, or he might end up phoning the pharmacy and asking them what they're doing if your rx is for adderall...

technically this should never happen. if your prescription is for adderall, they should give you either adderall or a generic, not d-amphetamine (another drug). you can get into legal trouble by "substituting" drugs like that.
if you recieve "mixed amphetamine salts" that is the same thing as adderall though.

it's probably more likely you've just been prescribed d-amphetamine all along, if this has happened every time you filled your rx. some doctors will use brand names in conversation, but prescribe generic/"different but the same" drugs to save patient costs.

Thanks for the quick response. You're right; in the off-chance that the pharmacy did make a mistake, this isn't something I should shrug off. I'm going to give them a call first thing tomorrow to confirm that they don't consider the substitution a usual thing and that they take careful steps in order to prevent such mistakes.

To clarify, the official paper script that I receive from my doctor reads "Adderall" and the noted dosage. Once that runs through the pharmacy, however, I received a bottle labeled "D-Amphetamine". Nothing more than that. I've even checked the pill codes to confirm that it is pure D-Amp. I'm sure there is a mistake somewhere here. I'll do my best to figure it out. Thanks.

In regards to your edit: I suppose this is a possibility. I'm going to contact both the pharmacy and the doctor's office to figure this out.
 
And don't post the same thing after a previous thread of yours was closed, it's just not going to help you in anyway and infractions are not what you need or want.


EDIT : Oh and I also tried to help you by asking you to REMOVE the 1st question and start a new thread with the second to HELP you keep your question alive..... but now look what happens.
