The show COPS

I love how that show makes all drug users look like ghetto slinging crackheads, and completely belligerant uneducated people.

Cocks.........

Me and a couple buddies made a couple of video's called Cock's. They are filmed on location and we play officer Brett Sticks & Doyle we handle crime accordingly and use our skills as officers of the law the best we can to deter crime and the likes. All the while being Cocks. Busting those drunk delivery drivers has never been so fun.

my brother and I were watching cops in passaic co. nj.. and they pulled over a kid i went to HS with.. lol

our town was all shouted out.. and all the kid had on him was a dime of weed.. rofl

my town was also on 20/20 as the most ecstacy trafficing (sp) when i was uh... yeah. :)

i love cops its awesome entertainment

^^best if I don't type out a reply to that...8(

I am not, nor I have i ever been a fan of police officers in general, but for some reason I get immense pleasure from watching this show... probably because it stirs up such emotions (especially for the intense drug arrests over a gram of weed) in which my friends and I end up cursing at the television...but there is also a little bit of hope embedded in the show...making you think "wow...compared to that guy, I feel really good about my life". However, Cops does play into just about every minority stereotype that exists...

My beau and I wonder and marvel at the diversity of stupid criminals available for the taping of these programs:

  • meth heads driving unregistered cars without insurance or working tail lights at night

a coke head driving a stolen pick up for hours in a bad neighborhood

fat "johns" being set up by a not so attractive female officer posing as a curbside prostitute

Anyone seen the Star Wars spoof called Troops? It's set on Tatooine and has loads of Stormtroopers doing Cops type stuff like sorting out a domestic at the Skywalker house and investigating Jawas for stolen droids. It's very funny :)

You should watch a Cops Parody from Mad TV - "Clops" (Clay-Cops) it is so hillarious. They had prolly 3-5 "episodes" during the shows (about 3-4 years ago).

Classic one is when they arrest DUI Santa after they find coke in his sleigh...

Bad Toys , Bad Toys,
Whatcha gonna dooo ...

Don't people have to consent to having their face shown on a entertainment television show? I can't understand why anyone being arrested would do that.

Also, I see lots of instances of cops using excessive force to conduct arrests. I hope some of those people use the video evidence to press charges.

i really enjoy watching cops, or wild police chases. its a true reality show. the people who are caught dont give a crap about the cameras. they dont change their attitude (perhaps some of the officers do but at least it should stop some excessive violence if they know about the cameras). so in that case at least they are taping true reality uncut as it happens. plus, you can find out valuable information and ways to resolve (get out of) issues with police officers...

It may be taped uncut, but it sure as hell is NOT shown "uncut". They do lots of editting.

I'm sure the real cops would not agree to participate in the COPS show unless they were going to be depicted as modern day knights in shining armour (which they are). I'll bet there are lots of instances where the cops screw up but those scenes are cut.

The tapes are reviewed by police administrators, to determine was can and what can't be shown.

obviously the wont show every scene they film

i meant that from the start of the chase/run/dispute to the end it is uncut you cant edit out parts and make it fluid real time

also there are episodes where the cops let the people go with a warning, or episodes where they do not catch everyone

i have even seen an episode where a chase was called off because it was too dangerous

almost every type of media is edited, as every story has two sides to it
