now really guys, how cool was will smith back then.
anyone watch it fresh out of the box, was it prime time, nationwide, syndicated viewing?

even now he's kinda cool, sometimes!

but the theme song makes the show.
so here it is....


Now this is the story all about how
My life got flipped, turned upside down
And I’d like to take a minute just sit right there
I’ll tell you how I became the prince of a town called bel-air

In west philadelfia born and raised
On the playground where I spent most of my days
Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool
And all shooting some b-ball outside of the school
When a couple of guys said we’re up in no good
Started making trouble in my neighbourhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
And said you’re moving with your aunte and uncle in bel-air

(only the first three episodes of season one)

I begged and pleaded with her the other day
But she packed my suitcase and sent me on my way
She gave me a kissin’ and she gave me my ticket
I put my walkman on and said I might aswell kick it

First class, yo this is bad,
Drinking orange juice out of a champagne glass
Is this what the people of bel-air livin’ like,
Hmm this might be alright!

I whistled for a cab and when it came near the
Licensplate said fresh and had a dice in the mirror
If anything I could say that this cab was rare
But I thought now forget it, yo home to bel-air

I pulled up to a house about seven or eight
And I yelled to the cabby yo, home smell you later
Looked at my kingdom I was finally there
To settle my throne as the prince of bel-air

I have always thought this show sucked. Even 'back in the day' when it was considered pretty funny and cool.

Will Smith = bleh.
 
I used to watch the show just to see Will's grumpy uncle throw Jazz out. Even tho it was the same pre-recorded scene over and over again it always used to crack me up.
 
It could entertain the highness (me) and that's always good! even now some of the best tv is old shows while high! :) besides the older sister, what Hilary right? she was so blonde yet she was a black girl. laughs galore!
 
My mum loves that show - and still loves Will Smith to this day. She used to insist I watch it with her. It was pretty funny, although completely "stock".
 
heh, i used to like this show a lot, but never watched it that much - whenever i got home from school i used to play video games or go out and play basketball.

on the occasion that i did catch it though, it ruled :)

Thats what i thought. I went to watch it today and there is a new program started instead

Aye, same here, trouble keeps showing the same epsidoes over n over(on sky tv) and its on bbc2 also in the evening, kinda ironic they were pulling sad faces when they showed the last episode on trouble again, but then the next day they showed it from the ebginning again!lol, i thought that was odd.
