This news program is the ultimate form of shaudenfreud reality tv. Going to be a new one this wendsday if you've missed it. Sicks fucks trolling for teen girls and boys on chatrooms are set up. The look on their faces when the reporter pops out is so God damn priceless. Funniest: The guy who got caught once and then again at a mcdonalds the very next day, he had that deer caught in the headlights look. Scariest: the guy that brought his 5 year old with him.

is this on tv because we're watching it or are we watching it because it's on tv?

sexual predators are a problem. this, to me, is not part of the solution...

:\

alasdair

people are watching it not because it is a way to find out how to stop predators or even how to protect their children/teens... they are watching because human depravity is always a big seller

this may not be the answer but sure does make for some interesting television.
i have to admit i do watch it and when, for some mysterious reason it did not tape last week- the first week i tried to tape it, i was disappointed.

and scariest- not the guy with the kid (i didnt see that one) but the guy that brought whipped cream so the chick could preform something sexual on the cat... and then as soon as he walked in get completely naked

does bluelight exist because you registered or did you register because bluelight existed? (my point: your comment leaves me in a non-sensical loop) ;)

secondly, i disagree with you. this show is helping to scare off would be child molsters. if nothing else, it puts more people on the street looking to set-up or deter adults interested in children.

i wont watch the show, though. I read an article about it. i just can't stand reality tv any more (unless if it's UFC/TUF)

I like this show, its entertaining. It ALMOST bothers me because to me its entrapment (which bugs me) BUT because its child molesters I have to make an exception and say they deserve to be trapped. Its weird how open a lot of the men are about it..like "yeah I figured this might be for dateline, and yeah I have a problem, I know," etc etc. Weird. I agree the one where he brought his KID with him to some house thinking he was gonna fuck a little boy was seriously disturbing. Can you imagine being that little boys mother and getting that call? :(

entrapment? honestly how stupid do you have to be? these kinds of specials have been going on for YEARS! lol! i also don't think they believe they have a problem.. they're master manipulators.

sometimes i think the parents should be charged for neglect for not monitoring their kids internet usage.

i am appalled that this type of reporting is popular, but at the same time it's difficult to change the channel when it's on.

Unless you ban the internet from them completely or watch over their shoulder every second and dont allow them to talk to their friends on myspace/aim/msn, whatever, it would be pretty hard. And I agree they would have to be pretty stupid but the allure of sex is a strong one I guess...ew.

tv: Dateline: To Catch A Predator

Just wanna see if anyone likes this show as much as I do. So many priceless moments, Chris Hanson has the best job on tv, imo.

And I went to high school with one of the guys busted on the ohio episode.

really i watch these any time i see them on. it is like a sick addiction.
i like the people that claim they knew what it was all about and they knew what it was... they were just testing it out.

it is the horrible trainwreck of american tv at its finest

Those, and don't forget the ones who, after being videotaped the entire time, cover their faces when the cameras come out like it's going to change anything ...

if i'm flipping channels and this show is one, i always watch it. i think i just enjoy the looks on those guys' faces when they found out they fell into a trap. the conversations these guys think they are having with teens are disgusting! this show and what the whole team is accomplishing is great- get more of these jerks registered and let their families know who they are.

I tivo it every week. It should become its own weekly show. The look on the face of the naked guy with the whipped cream was the most priceless face I have ever seen. I dont think watching that will ever get old.

Yea that shit is crazy....

My fav one was in the very first episode where that one guy who rolls in the house naked w/ a case of beer expecting to see a lil boy gets busted....and admits he has a prob (they werent arresting the guys yet) and then the very next day they bust the same fucking guy at a fucking McDonalds....LMAO

Imagine the financial and emotional pain the bad guys' families have to endure. I wish they would show that part on TV. Show the bad guys' kids go to school and get humiliated, show the wives' nervous breakdowns as they drown in legal debt and public embarassment (*at the same time*). It would make a good show. Maybe the mother-in-law will commit suicide next week, you have to tune in to see.

^yeah, I agree. I'm usually all about protecting rights, but that's when there are no victims. especially children. still, to broadcast it and all, it WOULD really suck for family members that are recognized by association.

I don't watch tv, though, so I've never seen or supported the show :D
