Trying ketamine for first time at festival. Help?

My boyfriend and I want to experiment with ketamine for the first time next weekend at Bisco (in lower, non k-hole doses). I plan on purchasing it at the festival and will be bringing my test kits. I already know I will be using MDMA the final night (Saturday) so I am unsure if I'm better off using the ketamine Thursday or Friday? And then whichever night I don't use the Ketamine I will just be drinking and smoking weed. What is a good dose for beginners and how often should I/will I wan't to redose? Also how long of a gap should I put in between alcohol and ketamine use? I know they are dangerous to mix but can I drink in the earlier evening and then use ketamine several hours later? What should I expect overall for my first time? I do have anxiety issues; will ketamine exacerbate this, or alleviate it? Any tips or help for a first-timer are greatly appreciated.

1. You can use the ketamine either day. It doesn't cause any latent interaction with other drugs or any real comedown/hangoves. You should be pretty much back to baseline after a few hours. Personally I'd take it both days, and try and save some for the sunday too. Little bumps of ketamine at festivals are like breathing oxygen, an absolute necessity! It works brilliantly on the tale end of an MDMA experience (or pretty much any kind of psychedelic/empathogen).

2. I've got no idea how much a small bump of ketamine weighs. Maybe 30mg for somebody with no tolerance? Just start small and make sure you don't do too much too fast. It probably peaks around 30 minutes - 1 hour after dosing. After that it's okay to take more, though you mightn't need as much. Take 1/4 or 1/2 the amount. It takes 5-10 minutes to take effect. If you're not feeling it in around 15 minutes, then you can be almost certain it won't get any stronger. After 15 minutes I'd say it's safe to take more, but just bare in mind you've already got some in your system, so the same sized line could suddenly become quite apparent.

3. The rule with ketamine and alcohol is, don't do it if you're drunk. It's not a pleasent experience. If you're a little bit tipsy and you drank a few cans, then go for it. But if you're drunk, you probably won't like it. Confusing/messy/uncomfortable. Done it more times than I care to remember; it always seems like a good idea when you're drunk, it's always horrible. Sometimes it's actually alright if you get exactly the right dose, but trust me, it's best avoided. So you don't need to wait any set amount of time, really. Just ensure you aren't drunk.

4. What to expect? The first time I sniffed ketamine was utterly baffling. I said "eh" a lot and I was very confused. Reality was sufficiently altered and I wouldn't say that was a k-hole dose. It was very near though. Everything was just weird. This kind of state could be easily achieved off a few bumps. It's fun and well worth experiencing, but experiment with lower doses first. Lower doses make everything fun, fluffy, happy, joyful. The world looks slightly brighter, and feels it too. Your perspective changes slightly. I have fond memories of doing things in this state. They're just so much fun. Just be careful with the dose. Stumbling round the festival like a zombie isn't ideal. I recommend doing a small bump at your campsite to test the waters, then going for a walk.

5. Ketamine can have both effects on anxiety. Generally I'd say it's fine, but it can definitely cause it. It's usually so fluffy and comforting that it isn't an issue though. I've certainly seen people self-medicating their anxiety with ketamine, and I've only known a few instances of people experiencing anxiety from it, and that was always when people were experiencing troubling times with intense anxiety in their lives. People in a k-hole can become very distressed and confused, but they're usually too far gone to really experience anxiety. And they're always fine afterwards.

Hope that helps. Anything else just ask away :)

I would second the suggestion of testing the waters in your tent to find your sweet spot. Once there just baby bumps to keep you going. At least at a festival, unlike a club, you have your own private sanctuary to escape to

Over shoot your mark and you will find things a little too uncomfortable.

Exactly. Plus, doing ketamine in your campsite is amazing anyway. I have such fond memories of sitting around my campsite with friends/people I've just met sniffing ketamine. I also love the fact that in the UK everyone else has the same idea. When the parties over everybody goes back to their tent to sniff ket. People going around asking if you want to buy a gram, or if you have any to spare because they sniffed it all. People cooking it up on stoves. You're sitting in your seat and all you can hear are people talking, smaller speakers and nitrous oxide canisters.

I almost make it sound grim, but it isn't. God I love festivals. And ketamine. =D

Thank you Tranced for the thorough response. A couple more questions - Does the drug build on itself over longer periods of time. For example - if I did one small bump per hour for several hours, would I eventually k-hole (which is not what I'm currently looking for). Is the drug well suited for live music? Will I even remember seeing the music? Will I be able to socialize adequately on low doses of the drug? How well is the drug suited to day time? You say there is no hangover - if I used during the day would I likely be tired/exhausted at night kind of like how weed can make you? Also, I always hear people saying it's good on the MDMA comedown. What makes this so good? Sorry for all the questions, I am just looking to get as much info as possible on it before the festival next weekend. I posted this same thread on another forum and someone responded with this which made me wonder or not first-timing at a festival is the best idea.

"Terrible idea. It's very easy to go heavy on dissociatives, especially if you aren't familiar. being fucked up on dissociates in public will attract the wrong attention. Trust me, been there, done that. I was lucky that the place I was at I was known, and it's a safe space for that sort of thing. Go use drugs you know how they work and how to dose. Save the new stuff for a safe place, till you know what you are doing."

No, you shouldn't. You should only k-hole from doing small bumps if you keep stacking the peaks. Usually when I attempt to k-hole I have to sniff consecutive lines every 20 minutes~ at least to build on top of each other (I like to work my way slowly into k-holes with small bumps). Obviously this would change with bigger lines, but basically, if things start to get fucking bizarre, slow down. Unless you develop a penchant for the weird, that is.

Small bumps shouldn't effect your memory too much. Alternatively, on a k-hole you won't remember much. So keep things low and you should remember. I only listen to electronic music, but I'm sure live music would sound amazing. Ketamine can make music sound a bit weird sometimes, but loud systems kind of eradicate that problem. It's nice to alter the music. It definitely sounds better towards the weird end of the ketamine spectrum. It's got nothing on say LSD or MDMA, but it will sound altered, and good. Especially when mixed with one of the aformentioned drugs. On low doses you can definitely socialise easily. Higher doses impair speech and can cause temporary speech impediments until the peak wears off!

With regards to day time use, ketamine is beautiful in the day time. It gives the world a nice glow. It shouldn't make you exhausted like weed does. If anything it can give you a bit more energy to keep you going... or it can send you off to sleep, if you want. It can really work with you in that sense. I'd say that if your body isn't physically exhausted, you should be fine.

Why is it good with MDMA? Well what do you do after you're finished your MDMA (apart from sleeping/taking more)? You sit round wired, coming down, waiting for it to wear off. Ketamine creates a whole new experience. Ketamine and MDMA is gorgeous, and it really makes those few hours of waiting intresting. It removes the comedown, and allows you to sleep afterwards. It's just a brilliant combo.

And the post somebody made on another forum? Well, they're right, with regard to going heavy on the dissociatives. If you k-hole you have a chance of walking round like a zombie and then potentially interactiving with people/tripping over guy lines/falling into tents/passing out in the middle of an arena. I've seen this happen countless times, and I've also been the one doing it. Personally I've never experienced/heard of any problems resulting from this, but this really is a common occurance in the UK and people expect it. If you're in America (?) with far less frequent ketamine use then people might become a bit more freaked out (especially if the festival is of the less alternative variety), and I guess you could get yourself into shit.

However, you've just made two posts on bluelight with the specific intent of reducing the chances of that happening. You sound fairly sensible to me. Just do small bumps and you should be fine. If you have the right attitude you shouldn't experience any problems.

Actually, thinking about it; with regards to my initial advice, it's probably best to just stay in the campsite the first time you use it. Forget about the walk. Generally if I'm walking around like a ket zombie it's because I slipped into a k-hole whilst walking about. If you're sitting down you should simply melt into another dimension, one whereby guy ropes and normal people don't pose much of a problem.

You mentioned that you have anxiety issues and seem uncertain, so maybe don't do it. Its easy to have fun at festivals without drugs and its even more easy to have a real shitty time, when too much drugs are involved. There is no reason why you have to do it at festival for your first time - nobody knows how you will react. When you feel unsure, its just better to try it at first in a safe and common environment and not at a crowded and sometimes chaotic place.

Also its a stupid idea to go to a festival with the intend to purchase certain drugs. Best way to waste a lot of time searching and being frustrated when drugs not found. The chance of getting ripped of or busted is quit real, too.

Just try to enjoy the festival and people. Be open minded. If a chance for purchase/consumption will pop up and you feel comfortable, then maybe do it. Otherwise don't bother and just have fun.

Also watch out for those sketchy biscuit kiddos... last few years a large amount of research chems have made an appearance at camp so make sure you know what your getting. If it tastes like metal its mxe not k. ;) enjoy and be safe and stay hydrated

Those RC's were from random wooks not kids that are actually biscuitsfam. For real dude biscuitsfam hates that shit and is upset at the fact most new wooks and random edm kids just eat wayyyy to much "molly" and really fucked up camp!! Enjoy drugs we all do but test your shit know your limits and people who actually been on tour or been brought up by people who toured before 2003-2005 are not slinging RC's its these kids with no guidance.

That being said OP please tell me you and your boyfriend are going to see the disco biscuits. If not please go see them for me as I cannot make it from the best coast very salty that you will be there test some ketamine and please do a fat 80-100mg line for me in your tent.

Sorry dude I didn't read your handle your obviously into the biscuits I should have read before I went off
