I have been going on and off of phenibut for the past 3 or 4 months and have withdrew from it completely twice, taking a 2-4 week break each time. I am currently doing a fast (week long) taper from about 2.5g of phenibut. I believe I have been using it primarily for it's stimulant properties with the relaxation and enhanced sleep quality as extra bonuses.
I have come to realize that even though it offers an increase in focus and energy, the rapid growing tolerance and other side effects make it seem anywhere from undesirable to dangerous.
I am seeing a doctor very soon and am thinking about getting a script for a medium dose of Adderall or Dexedrine. I have abused pharmaceutical amphetamine in the past, but it has been about a year and a half ago and I think I have educated myself enough since then to have gained more respect for it as a medicinal tool. The last time I used Adderall, I was able to prevent myself from redosing and avoid some of the notorious pitfalls.
My questions are: how long should I wait after withdrawing from phenibut before I start an amphetamine regimen? I feel like it would be pointless to start it with any sort of disrupted balance. I know that phenibut affects the dopamine system and am wondering what sort of restoration period would be required to start the amphetamine in the healthiest way possible, with a "blank slate" as it were. Would supplements such as DLPA help out?
Also, does anyone have any experience using phenibut in a small dose when the effects of an amphetamine dose start to dwindle, in way similar to a benzo? Has anyone found a successful balance with small amounts of these two substances? It must be better than dosing heavily with either one alone.
I have been able to find very little info in regards to this online. Any input is greatly appreciated.
