I've been taking about 10-20mg per nite of oxy for about a year. I do take breaks where I can take a Xanax and skip a night or two

I recently got tramadol 50mg. Question is. If I take one. Will it keep me from having wd symptoms. Thx
 
not it will not tramadol is very weak almost like tylenol #3 you will def feel WD
even high doses of tramadol can be dangerous
 
It will help (not take away) because your oxy dose is pretty low..it will help mostly with mental effects of withdrawal..id start with 100mg..be carful tho tram can be addicting and withdrawal is dangerous because of seizure risk
 
You have a fairly low tolerance and dependence, based on your descriptions.

50-100mg of Tramadol should lower your withdrawal from, say, a 7 (diarrhea, feeling like crap, anxiety, cravings, cold and hot sweats) to about a 2 (mild anxiety, mild upset stomach)

I would say take 100mg of Tramadol, along with 12mg of Loperamide, 800mg of Ibuprofen, and a little bit of Xanax/Cannabis to calm the nerves, and that combination should knock you down to 0 withdrawal symptoms.

Usually If I just take a xanax I am fine at night, except for the sweats. And usually just diarrhea and some achy the next day.

I am just affraid to take a tramadol and have really bad insomnia and not be able to take anything else...that is the worst.
 
if you took 500mg of Acetaminophen (Tylenol), 800mg of Ibuprofen (Aleve), and 12mg of Loperamide (Immodium AD) those would eliminate the sweats, the aches and the stomach issues.

Try taking those and cutting a 50mg Tramadol in half for only 25mg.
 
Tramadol is one of the most underrated drugs. That shit is very powerful in high doses, i worked up a tolerance once and ate 19 25mg pils in 1 night.

Lucky, im still alive to tell the story.. and i dont advise such a high dose, but it was a great high. Better than oxy and it last longer.. surprisingly i felt great the next day and FELT no ill affects/hangover (not to say there weren't any).

If I was taking say 15-20 of oxy one a night, would 50mg or 100mg be a good substitute?
 
The only thing you'd need to potentiate tramadol is more tramadol . Start with about 50- 75 mg . You can gradually increase your dose if you have to. But know that in high doses tramadol peak-plateau is much longer, so once you find yourself a good dose dont keep pushing it.
I know tramadol is harsh on your organs, but ive taken and seen other people take very large amounts and come out fine. Drink plenty of water and listen to your body.
 
Tramadol caused life-threatening constipation for me...even WORSE than prescribed MS Contin, which was deadly. I have GI issues, so it's making pain management an "illusion" of sorts.

Yes...Pre-existing IBC which requires daily softeners/stimulants, but MUCH intensified with Tramadol. Tried it again last week out of sheer desperation to elevate mood. It helped the mood until I couldn't fully digest my food. TMI but it left me feeling like everything is gutted. :\ The prescribed Oxycodone doesn't cause this for me, however there is a plethora of other potential issues.

I thought you were trying to step down from Oxy to Tramadol. Hell NO...I don't get high. I'd consider it a victory to just be able to stay above ground without 24/7 pain.

I don't judge...never would...not my thang. But I've NEVER used drugs for recreation.

I'm sure you can get high off Tramadol, if that's what you're trying to do. Just BEWARE that the Tramadol will put you in the FLOOR if your bowels can't move for 11 days. 8o
 
Tramadol highs are great...if you're basically opiate naieve. For me, I've been off opiates for seven years and counting. Tramadol gives me a nice, mellow, relaxing kind of high, usually around 150-200mg.

It will help with oxy withdrawls, but it won't be a substitute. Start out with 50 - 100mg, increase by 50mg every hour and a half until you've hit around 200mg, don't take more than 400mg in a day unless you've also got something anticonvulsant on hand.

You'll definitely want to have some stool softeners on hand - Tramadol will back you up pretty bad. The only time I've had constipation as bad as Tramadol constipation was late-stage pregnancy.

Thanks for the imput. I have only been taking 15-20mg of oxy per night. usually 5-6 days a week. So its not like I am on very large amounts. I haven't really been on anything all week. I took xanax for w/d to get me to sleep I had a good week. I was just curious if i took tramadol say friday or sat night, how it would make me feel. I def. don't want to take 200mg. I only have about 300mg in total. but would like to have a nice night tonight or saturday night.
 
I have been coming down off a Methadone maintenance program for over the past year or so...started at 65mg per dose, now down to 4mg dose. Seems like the single digit doses have been the toughest for me...however I find that 100mg of Tramadol sure helps to smooth out the rough edges. One drug for another ?? Possibly so, but if I can completely kick the "done" with a little Tramadol - so be it.
 
I took 50mg tram at like 9. Couldn't stay awake idk if I was that tired or if it just knocked me out. Anyone else have that issue?
