So I’ve been taking a couple of tramadol every weekend for a treat for some time now

I have a couple of 50mg in the evening with a smoke and chill watching movies

I’ve got my hands on some 100mg tapentadol

I was going to have a switcheroo tonight and try the new ones see how I get on

I was going to just have 50mg by splitting one in half as I’ve never had them before and people on here say they are more potent than tramadol

Just really asking if anyone else has done this and if 50mg will be ok with my 100mg tolerance of tramadol

Thanks

Tapentadol is 2-3 times more potent than Tramadol according to a study called Tapentadol Versus Tramadol: A Narrative and Comparative Review of Their Pharmacological, Efficacy and Safety Profiles in Adult Patients (it's free to read, no paywall).

So 50mg of Tapentadol is roughly 100mg - 150mg of Tramadol. Be careful.

I would NOT combine weed and taoentadol

I always have a bad trip, panic attacks hallucinations etc when I combine these two.

50 mg of tapentadol is a fine starting dose but don’t mix with weed!!! Not even a little !

I Can confirm, tapentadol is able to produce hallucinations and u don't even need to take that much.

Yea at 150 I get full blown LSD and meth like visuals….physical euphoria from the opioid effect but a dirty feeling from the NRI activity…so usually I can’t enjoy the opiate effect of it much.

I find it good for adding an extra 25 mg or 50 mg to a regular opioid dose to boost it a bit without causing the hallucinations

But when the weed is added panic attacks and heart racing and feelings like I’m gonna die set it

Exactly. I am on a big mission to continue in rapid taper i had enough comfort meds but i was always freezing and hurting. Went from 1500-2000mg tram daily to 75 but i need to wait for next tram so i did oxy but i took 140mg er since morning and Its not covering my taper, crazy...i used at least 75mg tram now+ ibuprofen 800 maybe i need some of that tramadol to raise monoamines....

Has someone here combined Tapentadol with Tramadol?

I like Tramadol, my body seems to be good at converting it to O-desmethyltramadol.

I also had good experiences with Tapentadol.

I'd like to combine maybe 100-150mg of Tramadol with 50mg Tapentadol (+25mg Carisoprodol, since I have Tapentadol & Caris. mix pills).
Is that a good idea?

I have an opioid tolerance & was able to tolerate 250mg+ Tramadol IR without a problem.

I did
I couldn’t sleep on my front due to palpitations
Won’t be doing it again.

Thank you btw

I had a weird onset of withdrawals when the tap had worn off, woke up in the middle of the night with RLS
It was mental
Maybe dropping some tram might stave that off
I’d like to know too 👍

Man I don’t k own if it’s the tap but I’ve also had those panic attacks from mixing tap with oxy.

I think tapentadol is best used at 25 mg alone as a solo drug for minor pain.

I’ve had great euphoria from it also; and lots of bad experiences.

It’s very unpredictable drug.

Having benzos on hand though will always stop these bad trips or panic attack from tapentadol though

Interesting. Makes me want to try the shit just to mix it with weed and see if it's really that bad.

I didn't find tapentadol + weed to be a very bad combo.

But I have noticed that going over 150mg of tapentadol at first causes weird mental side effects. Makes you feel like there's a dark cloud hanging over your head. And my brain would start to "glitch" out here & there.

But when I continued to take it every day, it was like my body grew a tolerance to the NRI effect & the opioid effect was able to shine through better.

What's odd is I have a heart arrhythmia (PVCs, palpitations to be exact) and I was afraid tapentadol would aggravate this condition. But surprisingly my palpitations disappeared for the 2 weeks I was on tapentadol.

I still think tramadol is better & more euphoric/opioid-like than tapentadol. But the tapentadol withdrawals were pretty bad. And for some reason buprenorphine did not cover the tapentadol withdrawals really at all.

Pretty good description of how I remember tramadol. Only opioid I remember really just not caring for.

Dude I got an arythmia, or what I refer to as, cause at certain points I can feel my heart and it feels to stop beating or be stabbed by my ribs and it hurts to breath. Shit sucks. Does that sound similar to yours?

These drugs have a very unique withdrawal that can't really be covered by a single drug, other than itself.. antidepressant withdrawals can be worse than almost any other and can last, no exaggeration, your whole life.

I tried taking some rectal Tapentadol + Carisoprodol around 5h after dosing Tramadol. The Tramadol effects started to fade by then, but were still there.
It worked well, the effects increased.

Did it stave off the immediate withdrawals you get when tap wears off

Yeah that's basically what I'm dealing with feels like. Feels like my heart stops for a split second. Some times it's just a flip-flop heart stopping sensation at the top of my stomach, other times it's a squeezing/stabbing feeling right at the top of my stomach, just below my sternum. Actually it's been mostly the squeezing/stabbing sensation this time around. It only lasts about a split second, but it happens anywhere from a handful to hundreds of times a day. And on really bad days, my chest will feel heavy & tight, like my heart is sore or something.

It's been driving me to literal madness. I dunno how to live with this shit. I could deal with it if it was just a few here or there, but hundreds a day is literally torture. Plus knowing I could drop dead or have cardiac arrest at any given moment just puts a real damper on my mood 24/7.

Yeah that's true. Some opioids don't share cross tolerance or full cross tolerance too. But it's likely because of the SNRI effects that bupe doesn't cover. Or in the case of tapentadol, the NRI effects.
