Tramadol and amitriptyline

Ok, cant really find anything definite about this combo but if i have taken up to 400mg of tramadol during the day would it then be safe to take 50mg of amitriptyline to get to sleep that night? I dont wanna do it and risk some nasty interaction like seretonin syndrome.

There is a risk of seratonin syndrome, how big of a risk I couldn't tell you.

I doubt the risk is very large seeing that some people take both simultaneously by doctors orders.

I would like too know the true risks of SS when it comes to drug combos. I haven't yet been able to find any real in debth material about the chances of SS with drug combos.

My doctors once had me on effexor 300mg plus viibryd 40mg which both have strong seratonin reuptake properties and told me not too worry about seratonin syndrome.

Well yesterday i had 350mg of tramadol during the day, then 50mg amitriptyline last night to help me sleep and it worked just fine. No adverse effects noted.
