Misc Tramadol + 4-FA?

Just got a prescription for Ultram. I don't fully understand the mechanism of action, but it is listed as a "serotonin releaser" and reuptake inhibitor on Wikipedia. (For those who don't know, 4-FA is an amphetamine with mild MDMA-like effects).

Would taking a normal, medicinal dose of Ultram with a low dose (~20-40 mg) of 4-FA be likely to cause seizures or the dreaded "serotonin syndrome"? Has anyone here tried this combo?

I've seen mixed reviews on MDMA + tramadol but 4-FA seems to have significantly less serotonin releasing action than MDMA, so IDK.

Thanks!

I still wouldn't risk combining the two substances. Put 24 hours in between use of each at least IMO. 4-FA is still a decent releaser of serotonin.

well I have heard/read that it takes approximately 400mg (I'm pretty sure it's 400mg but do your own research, don't just take my word for it) of tramadol to have risk of seizures.. but I can't help ya with the 4-FA/4-FA+tramadol since I have never even heard of 4-FA until now.

Be safe buddy. Sincerely, Animoe.

A friend of mine took large amounts of Tramadol and didn't have a seizure until he hit the 900 mg mark. He was also prescribed SSRI antidepressants at that time, as well as Adderall. Yeah - his doctor was a quack.

I have combined tramadol with Adderall before, and tramadol with MDMA (50-100 mg of tramadol, rarely 150 or 200) with no ill effects. I believe that a therapeutic dose of tramadol with 4-fluoroamphetamine will not cause any ill effects. In fact it would probably feel really good! I get a nice glow off of even 50 mg of tramadol, and I have a very high opioid tolerance.

Thanks for the help. I'll definitely put a day or two between each drug until I know how the tramadol affects me. I'm REALLY experienced with SSRI's but have never tried anything like Ultram.

SSRI's + serotonin releasers = no effects, but tramadol doesn't appear to be a straight-up SSRI so I don't wanna risk it. Will probably be taking it with SOME stimulant (2-FMA most likely), but I'll leave the serotonergics on the shelf just to be safe. Never had any problem combining uppers with SSRI's or various other drugs.

Glad to hear you enjoy the tram, manoso. Everyone here seems to think it's bunk for recreational purposes. Hopefully it's better than Darvocet (propoxyphene)? :)

Yes, much better than Darvocet. The tramadol feeling is unique among all of the opioids, probably because of its strange action on serotonin as well. I get a wonderful glow from tramadol even though I am taking buprenorphine.

Lady Codone...

Just a heads up...I have been on Tramadol for my shoulder for probably around 6 months +/- and usually take anywhere from 300- 500mg's a day. Obviously I have a tolerance. I don't get "high" from them, but my mood is pretty chill, so I don't mind them. I had never had any ill effects from this medication even nights when I thought I could have overdone it. That was until about a month ago, when in the middle of the night, my body started convulsing in short spurts, pausing, then twenty to thirty seconds later another semi-violent convulsion with intermediate twitches and so on for about an hour give or take. It scared the shit out of me. I thought to myself, "Great, I've consumed enough narcotics of various forms in one night to kill a Horse and trams are gonna take me out? What a jip!". Obviously, I survived and have had no issues since. Moral of the story is, even though Tram is scoffed at, it still has the potential to eff you up. Know your body and how it will react to any drug(s) before taking the leap.
Also, Tram and speed are not a combo I would advise. Do some research and you will see that amps are probably one of the worst drugs you could throw into the mix, mind you don't have any benzo's on hand. That actually might be a good idea to grab some if you can considering they are anti-convulsants. If anyone sees any error in this feel free to retort. I'm definitely not one to preach considering the amount of crap I've put and still put in my body, I'm just letting you know that you gotta be careful when mixing...peace.

THANK YOU for the warning advancedneuropathy! Tramadol abuse/withdrawal is associated with seizures, so maybe that's what you experienced? Sounds terrifying.

I'm not planning to take more than the recommended amount for pain relief, but we all know how "plans" can go. I have a few etizolam on hand but won't be combining them unless I see a legit need to.

Speedy drugs are a daily thing for me, albeit in extremely low doses. I won't be dosing the tram and 2-FMA at the same time, but they'll likely be in my body in some form simultaneously. Will avoid the 4-FA and serotonin-releasers for sure though.

SO glad to hear tram is better than Darvocet! That shit was as lame as acetaminophen. My doc compared tram to propoxyphene and said it has "no addictive potential"...yeah, right. Tell that to all the Tramadol abusers out there!
