I got a script refill for norco the other day. As usual my brain goes into stupid mode and I take way too many. They were only 5/325 but I took about 45 over 4 1/2 days. My concern is the apap. I vomited 3rd day but now (6th day) my guts are all tore up and I think I have liver pain. I've read a bunch about Tylenol overdose and I would think 6 days in I would be pretty bad off if that was the case. What concerns me if my liver hurting.

go see a doctor about this. the recommended daily limit of APAP intake is 3g/4g depending on whether you're in US or UK. can't remember which is which but I wouldn't exceed 3g daily or 2g in one sitting.

if you took 45 in 4.5 days then you took about 3,250mg a day which is around the limit zone. as for whether you took more on certain days or not, only you'll know. vomiting and liver pains is not a good sign. talk to your doctor about the discomfort and do a Cold Water Extraction next time.

I've been puzzled about whether taking like 2 grams a day, each day, will cause significant damage. Some sources say that yes, others suggest that the hepatotoxicity comes only with higher doses. Reason being I'm currently taking codeine every day and not really looking to damage my liver.

It could easily be that you're a psychosomatic like I am. A few years ago when I started experimenting with codeine CWE, I'd start worrying that I'm taking too much APAP (I did it once a day and later measured the APAP amount to be even less than 1 gram lol). I read about symptoms and started feeling that "right upper quadrant" pain. So I became really worried. Then a few days later I checked where the liver should be, and it turned out that the area where I "felt the pain" wasn't even where the liver is, and funnily enough the pain quickly moved to the correct location. So that's that.

Do CWE, it's easy once you have enough experience and is really worth doing to avoid potential damage.

liver damage via apap is dependent upon a lot of factors.....age, overall health, history of drug use, alcohol use, other drugs, quantity of each dose, length of time between doses, etc etc.

That is true. I have a history of drinking too much, but I pretty much stopped doing that and had a liver test a few months ago - everything was ok. I eat grapefruit before taking the codeine, not only to potentiate it, but also because paracetamol is metabolized into NAPQI by CYP3A4 which grapefruit is supposed to inhibit to some degree. So maybe I'll live to see another day.
