This is a bit of a strange thread, but I was wondering if anyone here, like me, suffers from 'toilet anxiety'? Whenever I have to go for a no. 2 I get really worried about what might happen (e.g. blood coming out or shitting my intestines out) and hold it in. Is this common? I've never heard of it before and was wondering what I can do?

i feel you man. I was sick and shat myself 15 lbs less. i was throwing up too so the shit cant take all the credit. the point is now when I get a run the 1st thing I think is "oh shit *pun* im gonna get sick and loose more weight again."

I've had some very... unpleasant toilet experiences, especially from drugs and infections. But they didn't leave me with any lasting anxiety. I've always had a "shy bladder" though. I can't pee if there are people nearby. If I'm in a public restroom, I try to wait for everyone else to leave before I pee, even if I'm shut in a cubicle and can't be seen. The same goes at my own house. If I'm using the toilet, and somebody's waiting outside the door or even in the next room, I find it really difficult. I have no idea why.

soemtimes when buzzing on stims, towards the end of the night i get bad paranoia thinking ive shit myself or something and everyone can smell it :p

After 2 years of heavy meth use, I no longer trust farts at all. :D

^ Yes I know, but anxieties are not often rational in most people.

It's so bad I usually only go to the toilet twice per week when I get high. Sober shitting is unusual for me, unless it's an emergency.

Have you ever soaked in a hot tub?

Child's Intestines Sucked Out by Pool Drain

Minneapolis (KARE-TV) - Abigail Taylor is what doctors call a medical miracle. The six-year-old is sitting up, talking and fully aware that she nearly died last Friday in a horrific pool accident at the Minneapolis Golf Club's Kiddie Pool.

Abigail sat on the drain at the bottom of the pool and doctors say her bottom created suction on the drain. They say the strength of the suction from the drain pulled part of her small intestines out of her rear end. Her mom says Abbey somehow pulled herself off the drain and out of the pool before collapsing into the deep end of the regular pool.

"It's a medical miracle that she survived," Abigail's father Scott Taylor said.

The little girl was rushed to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. Doctors operated for several hours before addressing the family.

"I immediately fell to me knees, my initial reaction was she hadn't survived," Taylor said.

But Abigail did survive, though her life will never be the same.

"She'll basically be on an I.V. That's how she'll receive all of her nutrition based on the fact that her small intestines are gone. She can't process food," Taylor said.

Taylor is talking to reporters to make sure other parents and pool owners are aware of the dangers lurking at the bottom of pools. Taylor's lawyer says a missing drain cover may be what caused this incomprehensible accident.

The manager of the Minneapolis Golf Club says he wasn't aware of any problems with the pool.

"Whatever happens from this point forward, the fact that she's still with us is amazing. I don't know any other way to say that," Taylor concluded.

Abbey will remain in the hospital for at least a couple of weeks.

The girl is set to undergo more surgery Friday.

I'm the same way, and I find it really odd. One of the few mysteries...

I have a shy bladder as well. They call it 'bashful bladder syndrome'. I tried to explain this to the nurses when I was in hospital but they didn't understand and thought I was trying to get out of giving a sample. It was even more disturbing when they insisted on standing there right in front of me when I was taking a shit. Bastards!

What is Parcopresis?

Parcopresis can be described as: “An inability to defecate when other people are perceived or likely to be around (e.g. in the same public toilet, the same house or the same building).” This inability limits the sufferer to being able to defecate only in a limited number of ‘safe’ places thus restricting their lifestyle. The level of restriction varies depending on the severity of each sufferer’s condition but in extreme cases it can force people to give up their jobs, avoid holidays they would love to take, and generally dictate and limit most aspects of their lives. A medical description is ‘Psychogenic Faecal Retention’. It affects both men and women, of all ages and backgrounds; it is a form of toilet phobia. The term “Parcopresis” has been coined by the creators of this website since, as far as we know, no medical term has previously existed for it until now. Another name for it is “Shy Bowel Syndrome”.

i dont have toilet anxiety

when im in a friends house or friend of a friends house i do my business respectively

public toilets different story , il piss everywhere exept in the bowl

I thought you were going to say toilet anxiety regarding public restrooms. I haaate public restrooms. Gross. If I have the option I'd rather go outside than in one.

It's a bit confusing as I don't actually have a phobia of public toilets. I have a phobia of shitting, period. Maybe if it were an actual disorder I might be able to get help.

CORPOROPHOBIA - the phobia of No 2 !

Search it and you may get some suggestions on how to overcome your fear etc

Good luck
