I've been interested in nootropics for a while and then I recently stumbled across this guy on the tube and it kind of got me interested in aniracetam in particular:

If you can't be bothered watching it he basically takes aniracetam for seven days and makes a video diary and he gets some pretty good results.

Seems like it would be pretty useful for studying etc?? Basically I'm looking for something that'll help me to get in the zone whilst doing essays and stuff but I don't have access to adderall at the moment so I'm wondering if this might be a good legal alternative... any fans on here??

Also does anyone have any recommended places to buy it? (is that allowed on here?)

We're not allowed to provide sources for anything, legal or otherwise, on Bluelight.

That said, its easily found with a quick search on Google.

I never messed with any of the racetams outside of piracetam but I've heard great things about aniracetam. I avoid that family now as I noticed how much piracetam shot up my anxiety after using it for awhile. Hopefully someone can chime in here with something more helpful.

Aniracetam made me irritable. Not like anxiety but little everyday annoying things were more noticeable. Like a tangled headphone cable made me angry and I simply didn't have any patience. Normally I have a lot of patience. I prefer piracetam.

I've tried Aniracetam a number of times and never found it too worthwhile. It is supposedly anxiolytic, which is something I've never experienced. I didn't find it qualitatively better than Piracetam or Noopept, both of which I like quite a bit, so I have never bothered taking it again. I did notice it made me ridiculously agitated. I remember taking a fairly small dose, probably around 500-750mg and I was just PISSED. I was slamming doors and cabinets and was just extremely irritable for no discernible reason.

That being said, everyone reacts differently to -racetams and if you've read up about it and think it might be useful, there's no harm in giving it a shot. I'd just be wary about reading any one person's anecdotal reports, as reactions to -racetams and nootropics in general tend to widely vary.

If you're looking for a replacement to Adderall, you might be sorely disappointed. There's no doubt that -racetams can help with studying in that they give you focus and some energy, but they are still much more subtle than amphetamine, and taking more does not necessarily give a more pronounced effect, and could in fact give you the opposite effect of what you are looking for (i.e., brain fog, sluggishness, fatigue).

Will it make me look like that dipshit if I take it?? Cripes...

I never noticed anything from the 'racetams except for anxiety and irritability. And I've tried most of the usual suspects (piracetam, aniracetam, noopept, and phenylpiracetam) for varying amounts of time. Meh. Some people seem to love them....I however am not one of them!

Interesting to see that I'm not the only one who noticed anxiety and extreme irritability from piracetam. I thought I was alone in that.

It was a great MDMA potentiator but other than that, it wasn't worth the side effects.

I've tried Piracetam and Aniracetam. Piracetam did almost nothing for me and I found it worthless. The first time I took Aniracetam though I did 1500mg and I felt wired. My focus was possibly even better than when I tried 5mg of dextroamphetamine. It, however, leaves me emotionless. I can't properly connect with people at an emotional level on it. It is anxiolytic as they say it is, for me at least, and it does enhance music, but not to the extent of psychedelics though. I also experienced megalomania on one occasion on it. In terms of improving cognitive functioning I actually found that it clouded my base line level of thinking and certain memory. Declarative memory turned to crap, but remembering tasks that you'd normally forget to do was improved. Creativity was slightly enhanced, as in I could imagine scenarios very clearly in my mind and play them out. It was fun, but it, in a way, took me out of living in the moment. It felt unnatural, like being on amphetamines, which I really don't enjoy. If you prefer being not-sober and are not 100% satisfied with your intellect, focus, etc. I think it could help you out.

Choline supplements are recommended with the use of racetams and I have large issues with choline, or more specifically Alpha-GPC. If I take too much I'll get depressed, and if I don't take any the racetams leaves me extremely exhausted, as in 9 hours of sleep feel like 3 hours. So why not take adequate amounts? Well, I've tried that also, but it's extremely difficult to find the right amount that you need to take. The initial boost I first experienced was a once in awhile type thing, so even if I dosed Alpha-GPC and aniracetam properly I seemed to experienced only the negatives. I can only get that wired feeling if I don't take aniracetam for about a week. I'm also not too comfortable playing around with my cholinergic system.

Overall I find that racetams are not worth it. I'm content with my base line intellect, focus, etc. overall and am not when I am on a racetam. From my understanding it seems as though racetams really shine when people that have experienced a cognitive deficit due to some kind of illness, injury, or disease, like someone with Alzheimer's, takes it.

Well he seemed pretty retarded to start, so there was plenty of room for a nootropic to be of use.

He'd also looks like he'd probably benefit from a shower, using a comb and possible getting a damn haircut.

I didn't watch the video... I saw the preview image and decided that I would probably want to punch the kid right off the bat. Figured it was in the best interests of my mood to not watch the video.

aniracetam was a bit of a wonder drug for me

i didnt have a scale so i suspect i was taking 1-2 grams a day or at least more than i was aiming to or should have

about a week in, the thoughts in my head were suddenly fluid and moving from brain to mouth with 0 effort, this is very unlike me and as such, my confidence rose a lot and social anxiety was practically obliterated, i could almost dominate conversation at a family gathering (in a good way) when usually i would not say anything really or talk to family members im closer to, but even those conversations can get awkward

it stopped working a few days after that, i have a hunch its because i dosed too high

Aniracetam sucks ... it has a strong GABA feel and is quite sedating. Taking a dose that would do anything cognitively was cancelled out by how sleepy it made me . Even when I tried to keep myself awake using caffeine it was still pretty pointless . Flawed !

Phenylpiracetam was one of the few worthwhile nootropics IMO. The first few times dosing 500ish mgs enhances cognition like adderall , but without the tweakyness.Expensive, and doesn't work as well after 3 or 4 doses. I've tried a lot of different racetams ...

Citicholine or cdp-choline is amazing , most worthwhile supplement i've taken. Nootropics don't do much unless you're already pretty fried.
