I really love close friendships and trying new things and this seemed to satisfy both of these simple pleasures.
It really does work, but I recommend taking it seriously or it is doubtful that it will.
This spell is to give you and another the ability to communicate with each other on a spiritual level. The results may vary according to the people using it and how in sync their spiritual viewpoints are. Some people will be able to convey words legibly to each other, but most will convey emotional states and visual queues as messages. Two to four people may do this together, but more than that will probably get too confusing.
To start, each person should have the following:
- one piece of hematite in the form of a necklace
(a new one that has never been worn before)
- some incense that the group decided on
(cones will be best for this, unless using powdered incense)
- a small white candle
- some black thread
- a small blanket
The group as a whole needs the following:
- a Chalice
- a Thurible
(one of the brass dishes in any new age store will work fine)
- a large candle
- some matches
You will also need to find a spot to do the spell - it can be indoors somewhere that you have privacy, or it can be a wooded area were you will not be disturbed or harassed for burning candles and incense. It should also not be anywhere that a fire could start, such as near a pile of leaves or hay, or near any petroleum solutions (such as a garage).
To start, have everyone that is participating gather around in a circle - whoever is leading the group for this spell will start to cast the circle - call to each direction going clockwise, starting in the east.
In the East -
Aye! Lady of the rising sun so bright,
ancients of water, fire and light
we walk softly on your mornings dew,
with open arms,
we embrace the night
welcome to our circle round,to you we are bound
Turn and face the South -
Aye! Southern ancients,
wisdom so old of the jungles, mountains,
and rain keepers of the magick which can not be told,
magick we wish to obtain
we welcome you here, now,
with us few so that we may show honor
in reverence for you -
Turn and face the West -
Aye! Land of the old,
the night and the cold,
the land of the setting sun, the mystery of death,
the key to lifekeeper of imagination - we welcome you now,
to join with our circle and share of your ancient wisdom
as we summon the magick of the cold dark night reality,
our magick shall become
Turn and face North -
Aye! Lord of the snows,
white giant so great of the blizzard and ice so cold,
Lord who moves mountains,
the magick of change in our circle the white magick unfolds
We welcome you here to help in our task
and to honor what we have been told!
After you finish casting the circle, it is time to start the spell. First, everyone will take out the incense that they brought, and crush them into powder - you can place the cone on a piece of paper or a leaf and crush it with a rock. Take the powder in your hands and clench it in a tight fist - empower it with you essence. Think of everything that makes you 'you' and push those thoughts into the powder. Then have everyone pour their powdered incense into the burner or bowl. Light the incense with a match or lighter - it may take a bit of doing to get it to light properly - you may want to buy some of the small pieces of self-lighting charcoal from a new age shop to get the incense to burn easier. Once it is going good, you should have a nice thick stream of smoke coming out of the burner.
Have everyone light their candle, and light the large group candle as well. Put all the candles together. Have everyone take out their hematite necklace and hold them all together. have everyone hold the necklaces, letting the pendants hand down in the smoke. As you are holding the necklaces over the smoke, start empowering the necklaces so that they all know how you each think. Everyone should close their eyes, and start visualizing. One person should start by saying out-loud an image that comes to mind, like "I see a bright red rose, fully in bloom - it smells wonderful - it makes me feel happy - it is cool to the touch", and everyone else should visualize the described image at the same time. After a few seconds, the next person going clockwise should do the same - describe an image that comes to mind "I see a fire - it is bright and large - about three feet high - it is a camp fire - it is very hot - there is not much smoke coming from it - it smells like a pine fire". After a few more seconds, the next person should go and do the same until everyone has had a turn.
Next, starting with the first person, they should visualize a word "I see the word NORTH drawn on a paper. The letters are bold and black - it is typed" and again, the group should visualize the word. Let each person in the group have a turn describing a word.
Next, each person should do something involving physical touch, such as "I am lightly pulling at my hair" and everyone in the group, with their free hand, should also lightly pull at their hair. Let each person have a turn at this as well.
Now, one person should fill the chalice with water or wine (using their free hand - the other hand should still be holding the necklaces). Move the necklaces from the smoke, and hold them over the candles - close enough to warm them, but not burn them. Say "this is heat". Move the group of necklaces away from the fire and dip them in the water or wine. Say "this is cold". The group leader should then say "Let these necklaces know us well - let them know each other as well. They are now bound to each other - and we shall speak to them, through them. So mote it be!" and take the necklaces out of the chalice.
You may now separate them, each person taking back the necklace they brought. You might want to dry them with a napkin or something. Assist each other putting the necklaces on, and then get back into a circle. The leader should say something like "so now we are bound, together we see, feel, and know. Let us seal this magick with a toast." And pass the goblet around letting each person take a sip.
At this point, the spell is complete - the leader should close the circle, saying something like "circle round, circle ground. Thank you spirits for coming on this day." or maybe even something more elaborate. Many people like to un-cast the circle by thanking each direction in a counter-clockwise direction. This is preference, as is the what to say. Now that the spell is done, everyone must learn to read the necklaces and each other - this will take a little time, but it is there. Usually, the first thing you will notice is the temperature changes in the necklaces - it may suddenly get hot or cold. When this happens, note the time and then compare with your friends at the end of the day and see if the same thing happened at the same time. After a while, you will be able to know what a persons mood is and what they are thinking about or experiencing (in your group, that is). If you want to break the connection, take off the necklace and bury it in the dirt.
The rules of balance apply to everything. Stay safe, and turn your fantasies into reality :p
