Ok listen to this; I got a question wrong on my biology 30 final exam becuase I stated that LSD is NOT a suitable drug to remedy clinical depression. What the fuck is up with that!
When I asked what was going on I was told that since LSD binds to seratonin receptor sites on dendrites that it technechly would help in treating depression!
Oh yeah, It also said in the exam booklet "Drugs like MDMA and its analoges mimic the sertonin molecule and bind to its receptors on the neuron."
How is it that us druggies are smarter than the education system, its scary.....

To be truthful, almost any psychedelic has good potential for treating mental disorders, but only during a therapy session. Psychedelics open the mind to new ideas, increase suggestiveness, and open the door to deeper layers of consciousness. Check out maps.org for current research. Acid is probably one of the least useful, because of its length. (plus, have you ever tried to really concentrate on something while on acid besides a cool picture or light?

If your teacher thinks that it will help by itself, she is more cracked out than any user of this site. Any drug that mimics serotonin actually makes your brain produce less, ie. ecstasy can help cause depression. I used to be addicted, I stopped using and became suicidal. Just to point out, use a little logic. If LSD is binding to a serotonin receptor, how efficiently do you think that the actual serotonin can bind to it?

I somewhat disagree with LSD being the least useful, I think it's right behind MDMA, for most people. LSD has the ability to help dredge up deeply hidden issues and make you face them whether you want to or not. Of course this benefit should really be derived with a counselor or other qualified trip therapist around.
LSD was used in the 50's and early 60's to treat alchololism and it did a great job. Most patients comletely broke their dependence.
It's a quite a fascinating drug and a great book to read about it and the governments acid parties, and general hysteria around LSD is "ACID DREAMS The Complete Social History of LSD:The CIA, the Sixties, and BeyondAcid Dreams."

Hmmm, so maybe I was wrong about that one after all! Yeah I guess "we" (me) don't know everything like I thought. I was thinking more along the lines of a drug that treats depression directly, I didn't consider acid and therepy.

Fuck that man, it's nothing but a conspiracy... they realized they couldn't fool the younger kids into buying this "drugs have no legit uses" bullshit, so it's time to work on the older guys..
