MODS - Please add or correct where you see necessary (but do it to the post in both NAE and MW). Thanks.

Okay, here's the deal. BadBoyBrian was kind enough to kick it with us for awhile here in the NAE/MW forums but now life is calling and he's going to have to step down from his position. I've spoken to both Wondci2 and TriXieee and they would like to keep a third mod to help out with the forums, so we're opening the window for applicants. However, as most of these mod selections tend to drag out too long, we're going to make this short and to the point. So, applications are due by SUNDAY NOV 27. Do NOT contact me, I'm leaving it to the mods to select who they want to work with.

We're looking for one or two candidates to moderate these forums. You need to be fairly involved in this forum (activity in other forums isn't so much of a factor), and be willing to put in the effort this job requires. Tact is helpful, and a general knowldege of the music scene is also a plus (you don't need to be an expert).

I've left this thread open for replies so you can ask questions about the job and everyone can see the answers. This thread is NOT to offer your services or to nominate anyone. Only those who email us will be considered, and nomination of others is not accepted.

Questions:

1) What's the pay?
The gratitude of your forum members and the sense of a job well done (translation, not a friggin thing).

2) What are the expectations? Generally, we expect the mods to be active in the forums - so you need a dependable internet connection and an investment of your time. More will be included in an orientation email once the selection is made.

3) What are the duties? Checking the forum, reading threads, responding to REPORTS on threads in your forum. Realistically, about 30 extra minutes above what you usually put into the forum. You'll need to split out new events once enough information has been provided, but most of you have seen how this works. More will be included in an orientation email once the selection is made.

any other questions? If so, post them here so everyone gets the answer.

Send your application in an email to the following address:
[email protected]

Please include in the email:
1) Your screen-name (so we know who you are)
2) Why you think you could be a great mod for the forum(s)
3) Any special considerations the mods should be aware of but might not know from reading your posts here.

Thank you to all members who keep these forums thriving. It is your contributions (as member or mod) that make or break these forums, you make it what it is, so whether you are selected or not, all your efforts are appreciated.

Applications MUST be sent BEFORE Sunday November 27. We'll try to have a new mod in place by Dec 1 or shortly thereafter. Thank you.
