I haven't really experimented with this much at all, but the thought surfaced after a rather humorus exchange in Drug Culture involving hairgel.

I'm surprised that I haven't seen this subject explored more, considering the subject matter. But, anyhoo, have any of you out there experimented with theme tripping, AKA setting up a trip to explore something predetermined, like an exotic locale or something or other along those lines? I'll most likely be exploring this more in the future with my DXM delvings, just to have something to add to the thread.
 
well cool looking places(usually nature of some sort) while your NOT on drugs are absolutely awesome while ON drugs i can tell you that much..When i went on a trip with my family and a friend down to some camp place, there was this out of the way place no one ever goes to across the river, so, knowing where it was as i had explored a very small part of it the year before, i went there with my mate while wasted, almost everyday(it was our place to GET wasted most of the time) and man it was absolutely brilliant, really...there were 2 HUGE oak or something tree's, the whole place except for under the tree's was covered in hay about knee hight(wasnt really hay, was something else) and there were these really cool looking normal size tree's in big row's...i loved it, was best place ive ever been stoned...oh and on one side there were huge ass cliff's which looked pretty cool...oh and on the other side where the river was, there were REALLY steep banks/cliff's that you CANT walk up, anyway, we climbed up and down these 30ft cliff's so much, pretty much always absolutly blazed too...was pretty scary now that i think back to it, if we had falled we woulda broken at least a few bones if not died...ohwell was still VERY fun. I plan to go back there next year except have ACID!! should be great.
 
^ dude that sounds choice as hell, the perfect place imo. i love being in nature.

but yea, i want to hear more about this as well.
 
dude that thme thing sounds cool, like alot of the time me and my buddies do nature trips. and then some are just in my bassement, but to do like a final fantasy trip, where we dress up (lame i know) like a charcter and then play Final fantasy games all night, now that would be an experience. or an Alice in wonderland trip. like make your room like the tea party in alice and then eat some acid there. fun fun fun

i said something to the effect of 'you know what im sayin?'

and he thought it was saiyan like goku style, so we were talking about like a dragonball trip lmao, lame yea but fun??? i think it could be
 
My dxm trips always end up with a theme. We usually ended up at my gay friend's room watching Queer as Folk, and getting REALLY engrossed in the drama, to the point were we would have to pause it to discuss what was going on and cry and shit. Totally awesome!
 
LSD takes on musical/sound engineering aspects to me- coversations have acoustic envelopes, the sawtooth wave repeats at varying frequencies everytime i enter a new situaton, visuals become phasers, flangers and delays. Its fun
 
Certainly going to a music festival, or a concert, or out camping while on acid has a "theme" to it that's been planned in advance.. haven't quite done the tea party-style thing though.

One night I wandered downstairs in my house to find six of my friends had gotten dressed up in formal eveningwear and were playing poker while looking like characters out of the 1920s, smoking cigars and sipping brandy. I was really stoned at the time and seriously had an am-I-tripping moment when I stumbled in on them. ... Watching that was pretty amusing, but I'm not sure I'd want to do it on acid. I think trying to carry on a role (or play a game, etc) for very long on acid would be too challenging -- I'd lose my concentration.
 
some of our best theme parties/ trips of the past are as follows:
1. The gods and goddesses parties- come dressed as your favorite deity!
2. Pimp's and Ho's nuff said
3. the saran wrap parties, though this was more purely mdma

also Texas' regional burningman event www.burningflipside.com has a different theme which the participants choose each year. Past themes include "Glitter Monkey Rodeo", "Intergalactic Circus", and "Dreams of Chromatic Distraction". This year the theme is "Symphony of Construction".

i really like the god and goddess one; weve done pimps n hoes just as drinkin parties with a keg and that was cool as shit.

Yes. That's what prompted me to start this topic. A dragonball trip would be awesome.



I also really like the final fantasy one...


And I'm not so sure it'd be too hard to concentrate on playing the role...I mean, what what in do in real life anyway. Just playing a role.
 
yea, i have a pretty active imagination, when i want. meaning i can like immurse myself in something pretty easily so i dont think i would have a problem keeping it up.

i read this trip report of this kid who tripped with one of his good friends and two other friends of lesser degree who were good friends with eachother. well, i guess they were playing paintball, and it got intense. the author said he felt like he was in a war, like it was life or death almost. had to keep reminding himself that it was just paintball and he was just tripping.

anyways, the whole thing went to shit, like they ended up fucking each other up pretty bad actually, apparently.

i know it sounds crazy but i think it would be pretty intense to play paintball on acid. im pretty sure that if it were just among reeeally reeeally good friends the potential for digression into mayhem would be lessened. i think in the case stated above, there was slight apprehension between the two teams to begin with.

i will post the link to this trip report later, when i find it.
 
Irony can go a long way as a trip-theme. So can cliche, ennui, and cynicism. They work in any environment, and every state of mind :)

Space aliens with colored faces silver clothing antenna etc. would probably be fun.

General costume parties are awesome because you might come across anything anytime. Halloween is a great time for trippers.
 
o o o, speaking of that paintball incident(sounds buzzy but shooting em while on the ground?) going go-karting while blazed is fucking nuts! its like your in fast and the furious the whole time, drifting every corner perfectly, motion blur, lol everything. When i went i had about 2 good sesh's that day(1 of them just before i hopped in the car to go) and when i was driving i couldnt control my left foot lol so i had no brakes, my left foot would jump around(yes by its own) out of the car and into the air and shit lol was so crazy, and when the people that help ya when you crash saw they looked like there eyes popped out! Anyway that was pretty friggen crazy, imma do it again some time. I dont think id do this on any psychedelics or nothing, cause on weed it was pretty intense.
 
hehe i did a mushroom trip dressed up as an AXE murdering hippy at my mates house... there was like 70 ppl at this party... my mate has a massive house... was really wierd ... it was like talking to the characters the ppl were dressed up as.... there was lots of dress up police women.... that was a bit wierd at point cuz i was like..... 'oh man the partys busted' 'oh wait shit that NAME HERE' .... was a brilliant night untill my mate had a bit of paranoia and his g/f went mental trying to make him feel better and just proceeded in fucking him up even worse... she was a prat.... we sat him down and got him sorted out once she was out the way..... good times.... man we havnt done anything like that in ages....
