the very first poem i ever wrote....

ok, so it's late and i should be asleep, but instead i'm up... thinking about way too many things and generally reflecting on everything in my 22 years of life. i've always liked to write and even though i've posted more serious things in this forum before, i thought that i would share my very first poem.

i wrote this when i was 5 years old, right before i started kindergarten. i remember being so proud of it, and even though it's kinda cheesey, it still makes me smile:
rainbow, rainbow in the sky
just like a blossom
you catch my eye
your colors are beautiful
when they shine
i only wish
they could be mine
but you must stay
in the skies
and i must love you
through my eyes
