Do steroids cause long term health problems even when a user's lifestyle is otherwise healthy to the point? Or are responsible users simply doing all they can to minimize some of the health consequences?
Yeah you never hear about any steroid deaths on the news. Steroids are actually fairly accepted in American culture, even though they are illegal. Even the military tends to turn the other cheek. I've just heard that they can mess with your heart and liver over time. I've seen documentaries about users committing suicide, but that doesn't necessarily mean the steroids enabled it to happen.
Anyone see Bigger, Stronger, Faster?
Well, anyone who fucks it up is an example of what happens when you don't use responsibly. Pro athletes, imo, get a bit of a pass when they fuck things up. They're in a position where their livelihood, what they've probably trained for their entire adult lives, is on the line. I imagine that in those situations it's easier to go over the edge.As long as you know what your doing and use responsibly, don't over do it, it won't effect your health. Wrestlers are a prime example of what happens when you don't use responsibly.
Hmmm, I can't comment on how accurate that is. But, I think some links to studies in an official SD Steroid Safety thread would be beneficial to this forum.Lot of misinformation here.
The military will kick you out for steroids and tests guys they suspect of using them.
Steroids are bad for your heart and have been linked to many types of cancer - specifically colon and prostate cancers.
You don't hear of many deaths by steroids but they are out there particularly in the bodybuilding community and professional sports. You just hear of them dying prematurely due to heart disease or various cancers - never specifically steroids.
