Hello all!

I am a new member here, has anyone noticed that mdma has a very 'very' specific smell compared to anything else being offered or sold as mdma? I have seen about 30+ fake offerings, i smell (hehe) test with all 3 reangents and give it back. I have run into 3 different kinds that are all different in their own ways but are all absolutely positive, some fizzle black instantly, like boom! all 3 have a very distinct smell but they are all similar. Its like a fish oil in a tube smell, almost like a rotten fish but chemicalish... M1 has no smell like this which is flooded on the streets.... the latest batch wreaked of the same smell my stuff that is a year old has... all bought from totally different people. If i come across stuff, i simply smell it before anything.. :)

any one else? BTW my nose is horrible, i cant smell well. this is pungent..

bmwl0v3r welcome :)

wtf are you talking about you cant judge mdma purely by smell!
BTW my nose is horrible, i cant smell well.
are you high right now?

the stuff that smells light shit is often the best because you know its import..

i guess you guys didnt see what i wrote about the 3 reagents, i am talking solely about a smell i caught from 3 batches, from 3 different people, with a year apart.

Arent you guys moderators?

I read that part.

The smell often times comes from Safrole, or Sassafras oil. It is an aromatic essential oil used in the production of MDMA with a very strong, yet sweet almost licorice like smell. Impurities in the MDMA will often carry the smell over, so it's not necessarily a good thing. Safrole has a VERY strong odor though, and if the MDMA is exposed to that odor it can carry it from just being around it. There is actually a story about how a Safrole vat exploded in a university lab 20+ years ago.. to this day, it fucking reeks in there! Interesting read.

However this smell is easily mimicked by other essential oils and fragrances that can easily be purchased online, and as such cannot be used to accurately identify MDMA on it's own. It's great you use reagents to verify first, but that needs to be made clear to other members just as well.

This kind of discussion can only lead into speculation, and as you pointed out.. yes, in fact I am a moderator. Which is why I can do this:
