The new Xbox 360

I'll probably wait to see how it pans out. I think its lame that they're asking people to buy a new console in order to use a new peripheral. Sounds like a mistake IMO.

Personally I prefer a controller. Even the Wii is cool at first but, I play my games on my ass. I don't wanna be waving my hands around in front of my TV. Who knows it could be the coolest thing ever but, aside from project natal I just don't see myself buying a third 360 for stuff that my ps3 already has. The few exclusive titles that are still out there are better on ps3 IMO. I just think that anyone who already has an Xbox would probably shell out money for a ps3 (if they don't have one) over buying a fancy version of something they already have.

i love how they have said there is no RRoD anymore... because there is no red light in the 360...

so now you will get the GRoD... fuckin Microsoft.

i have no reason to get a new 360, but i must admit, im so tempted to get the Elite pack at one of our stores over here 120GB Black Elite 360 + Halo ODSL + Forza 3 for $250-AUD

The reduction in noise levels would be my main reason to get one. I have an elite currently with extended warranty however so I'm hoping this will hold me out until microsoft's next gen console.

I was wondering about the RRoD. The noise reduction would actually go along way in getting me to play 360 though because mine are stupidly loud.

I don't know though man there's only so much you cn do without a controller. I'm predicting this will be a big mistake. With the state of gaming and the popularity of FPS I can't see much success. Can you imagine a shooter in which you couldn't move your character? Not to say that it won't sell at all because I'm sure it will but, games are gonna be the biggest issue.

Marketing wise M$ is killing Sony. Most people have at least heard of the Kinect yet few have heard of Sony's new controller. Shit I don't even know what they are calling it.

ill prolly get it. the kinect, not the xbox. i already have two damn 360s anyways.

there are at around four different kinds of 360's. make add ons, sure, but to have to buy a new machine with each slight advancement is just greed on ms' part.

i wish nintendo got around to using all those expansion ports on the gamecube. such a waste.

i think the only reason the new xbox is kinect ready is that the usb ports will have enough juice to power it. if you have an older xbox, youll have to plug it in separately.

Hopefully cause I don't wanna buy a new one either. To me it looked like there were different ports possibly for the kinect. I was also under the impression that you'd need the new Xbox to run the kinect.

Edit- according to Xbox the kinect will work on any Xbox.

well, i'm on my third xbox console now (two system failures), now i have an elite, which has already red ringed once and got repaired. i will not buy the new one. i think its bullshit they keep re-releasing the exact same system every 6 months with more features and space and wifi, when the people who bought the console when it was first released kinda get screwed, spending more and getting less. they at least should have made it known that these versions were going to be available down the road. ehh microsoft is lame.
