The Masters 2016

Man, I am so behind on what is happening on the PGA tour this year, I dont even know who has been playing well. Think Ive watch like 10 mins top, and I usually start watching in Feb or March.

I will watch the Masters of course, but it is my least favorite of the majors.

i am also interested in why it's your least favourite, kittycat5?

i've been lucky enough to play pebble beach but i would love to play augusta and i know it will never happen. it is such a beautiful, challenging golf course with so many iconic holes.

i wonder who will win. jason day seems like an obvious favourite. i'd love to see phil win another. i really like oosthuizen's chances. rose is great but his putting is an issue and those augusta greens... finally, i think adam scott will be close and has a chance to repeat.

roll on thursday.

I will be pulling for phil like so many others

Its the tv coverage that spoils the Masters for me. Every other major has basically all day coverage but the Masters does not start its broadcast until 2 or 3 pm of the actual action. I understand all the drama normally is in the final handful of tee times, but I like seeing all the players, all the holes more than half a dozen times. And the actual views are much more traditional camera angles which can be boring at times.

The course is beautiful. I enjoy that it is both the most familiar course all majors are played upon and that it can be "easy" with no rough, wide fairways, and 4 par 5s that most can reach in two. I can overlook the snootiness of Augusta National as this is golf we are talking about. But show me the action from the first tee shot to the final putt.

Matsuyama at +4000 is appealing. And Dustin Johnson, if you only looked at this years stats (which is all I can base anything on right now) would be a great bet. But his history of bad luck and/or giving tournaments away in the final round makes that pick a lot less appetizing. Augusta would be the ideal spot for DJ to win his first major though. Obviously he has the length, and his putting is pretty solid.
