The "How NOT to get busted" Thread

My story is that within next 3 years my criminal record has to stay absolutely clean otherwise my future is going to be looking pretty grim.

Since I am around drugs quite a bit, I want to make sure I don't get done for it.

Any practical advice from experienced people?

More than anything, be careful of who you are associating with. Shady people bring attention to themselves, and you may be an innnocent causulty if they do something stupid in your presence. Steer clear of anyone who may put you in a compromising position. Don't deal with anyone new if you can help it. Obviously, don't advertise your drug use or draw attention to yourself in any way. Avoid carrying drugs on you unnecessarily. Don't possess any more than what you need to get by. Make sure your friends know your situation, or they might accidently do something stupid without knowing the risk they are putting you in. Above all though, just avoid situations that don't feel right or involve shady people. theres a reason people get gut feelings about things....most often, that feeling is leading you in the right direction. Don't doubt your first instincts. Thats all I can think of for now,, but following a few simple suggestions should be all the help you need.
 
If all your friends are about to go do something sketchy, feel free to decline and meet them back somewhere when they're done. Stick to committing debaucherous acts in the comfort of a private residence.
 
There is something that my drug dealer has told me like crazy and I've heard it since I was a little kid from my parents. If it doesn't seem right, then don't do it. If you notice anything strange, just leave. When you are buying drugs, keep it out of doing it in the public. I see a lot of people just sitting next to gas stations waiting for their dealer to come back with weed and that is only asking for trouble because there is something about people who just love to call the cops over every little thing they see.
 
Don't buy/sell in public, even if the place is secluded. I only buy from people at their residence, and only do drugs in the privacy of my own home. I don't sell (anymore, that is) and it pisses off alot of people (somehow I got to be popular as a dealer) People still call me at 3am saying "Dr. Mario! I need weed/pills/whatever, you got the hookup right?" I just hang up the phone and go back to sleep these days....I'm tired of this bullshit.

The same shit was starting to happen with me. It started out just me hooking a few friends up who couldn't get weed or any drug and they ask me to go get it for them. Then, in a matter of weeks, I just had people calling me that I hardly knew wanting me to get them some drugs. So I basically stopped doing that unless I'm just with a friend and he is like, "I would really like some weed right now..." I would be like, "Alright, let me make a quick call."
 
What got me real pissed was random people calling me. My reaction each time was "who the fuck r u and how'd u get this numbah?!?" I didn't like selling to people I never met (I'm a paranoid mofo) [edited --fr]

Kinda makes sense that you have to recognize the voice of the person on the other end of the phone

LOL! It's funny because I had the same reaction when these random people were calling me. It's funny how these people don't bother to talk to you unless you can get them good dope for a good price. I remember one time, this one guy that I hardly knew came up to me at the mall and he goes, "Can I have a 80-sack?" I'm thinking, "Who the fuck goes up to someone and just says they want a fucking 80-sack?"

My advice for you is to keep away from large quantities of anything. Carry on you only when you need to get somewhere with it and only enough to get by, as said before.

Make deals in a private residence.

Try to avoid selling/running/carrying for others/pushing.

If you are carrying, don't do things that will draw attention to yourself for whatever reason (good or bad).

Don't keep your drugs in your pocket when driving around. Always have a stash spot. Keep a cleancut appearance. Smile at the police. ;)
 
Just out of curiosity, since most of this advice has to do with dealing, are you (poster) dealing, or just asking for advice in staying safe while you do drugs?
 
if this thread continues to discuss how to distribute drugs without getting caught, it will be closed. stick to tips for carrying/holding user amounts


my tip is, if you have to ride with your stash, to always ride with it in the trunk. even if a cop has reasonable cause to search your car for some reason, they cannot search the trunk without additional reasonable cause to believe something is in the trunk. this applies to california; check your local laws regarding reasonable cause and searches.

don't acquire or consume drugs in public, and dont sell them to anyone

Dont associate with 'the typical talker narcs
Keep your use private
Dont sell, just consume

Just dont associate with people who are known by the police and get into trouble regularly. It really isn't that hard to keep your use and drugs you carry to yourself without getting caught, just dont' talk about it with many people.

Nah I'm not dealing at all, just want to use while staying safe.

Thanks a lot for all of your replies. Some things really made me think. Seriously reconsidering my behaviour up to this point... Have to be h e a p s more careful than i have been in the past.

While that may be true wherever it is ythat you reside, that isn't the case everywhere, at least in the US. In my hone state, a probable cause search can include trunks, gloveboxes, or any other part of the vehicle, including any and all locked containers. Please don't give such broad advvice when the laws very from state to state. I'd hate to see someone get busted for following advice you dispensed without regard to the possibility such information does not hold true in all areas. I have a bachelor's degreee in criminal justice, and I would be loathe to post whats legal and what isn't, as each state has different laws. I can attest to the fact that in my hone state, the police can and will search ALL areas of the vehicle when conducting a search. I'm not trying to be rude or arrogent, but please don't post something as fact when it certainly isn't. Such misinformation coulds have dire consequences for someone who took your post as the truth, especially considering you have moderator status, and many people rely on mods to provide accurate information.
