The Halo and the Harp
In the distance I see her eyes
Bright like a star, shining ahead and above in the Heavens
Like an Angel from my dreams, drifting through the night
Without a worry, without a care
Inside me, she found what she needed, a new kind of halo
One wrought of true love and flowing velvet plush
When she wore it, the gleam in her eyes became a paradise
Of her affection, and when she removed it, I was there, not as before
But changed, for I looked upon beauty in its true state
Pure and clean, as I looked upon her Angelic form
When our eyes met, sparks flew from the halo
And it shattered like so much glass
And what was left was my heart, shaped like a golden harp
And when she played it, I sung of the Angel she was
And the woman she is now
And when I was finished, my harp disappeared
And she was gone, and then I wept, for I was alone
And in my pocket, what found I?
A golden halo, with her face staring back at me in the mirror
And when I blinked, she was there, and I embraced her warmth
And love was born, of the Halo and the Harp
In the distance I see her eyes
Bright like a star, shining ahead and above in the Heavens
Like an Angel from my dreams, drifting through the night
Without a worry, without a care
Inside me, she found what she needed, a new kind of halo
