The Elements & what if anything they mean to you

I find I'm powerfully affected by the elements, less so Earth than the other three, at least I'm not as consciously aware of Earth affecting my emotions.
I imagine this is because the other elements are much more fluid & dynamic within my timeframe.
Fire, Water, Wind/Air all have deep emotional/spiritual affects upon me I find allowing mental absorbtion into these uplifting & deeply moving if I take the time & make the effort to do so. I like the power the elements have & am fortunate enough to have experienced them when they are in a benevolent state.

I'd be interested to hear anyones views but look forward to hearing from those who profess to lean only toward philosophy & who treat spirituality as some sort of mental aberration only practiced by the weak & confused :D
 
Though I don't believe in the astrological or spiritual aspects of the classic elements, I've been powerfully attracted by water my whole life, from ponds to rivers, lakes, and oceans. Its presence is always deeply calming; one of my fondest memories is of an internship in PA where the cabin I was living at was within earshot of a natural brook, whose sound lulled me to sleep many a night.
 
I don't believe elements are anything more than abstract superstitions and supplanted, scientific theory, but in this case I enjoy sailing and must choose wind and water.
 
Interesting.

I don't really attach any metaphysical believes about the elements but I do enjoy them. I often find myself standing still and watching a brook or the trees swaying in the breeze. Sometimes nature can be just too overwhelming and all I can do is stare at everything around me. Nature can put me in a trance haha.
 
Maybe why you don't feel as affected by Earth is because it moves too slowly to see it's many expressions, as earth as well moves like everything else, but you are effected of course... but I think you said this.

I too love being around water, especially around the Ohio River. Fire, of course, wind.. of course. Wind can hit me a certain way, and I'll remember something from a time past when it probably hit me about the same. I think all of these elements can be used if we understand them enough (and even if we don't), for our betterment.

I am more moved by ground, water and wind than fire.

I understand the extreme importance of every element on earth.

All of us are, I believe, affected by the elements. Some of us like to play in the rain while others stay inside, afraid to get their shoes wet. Some of us love the feel of the ground under our feet, how it is soft in some places and ward in others. Some like to play with fire, making it dance and bend to their will. And others still are light and fluid like the wind, not clinging to anything and floating through life with a smile on their face.

The elements of the earth affect us all, whether we agree or not. When these four elements are not working in harmony, "disaster" strikes, and we blame these elements for causing us harm. We're all working with the elements, even if some do not like to think that way.
